this receiver is well put together and sounds great. pushing more watts than it was rated at 75 watts. In this video, I am setting the bias at 17.5 mv`s.All the capacitors on this unit were within specs. I will show you the in and out in this unit.

People did not give the Realistic name the respect it deserved. Many of their receivers were excellent rivalling the likes of Pioneer, Marantz, Kenwood, etc.

Proud owner of the sta 2300. 125wpc and 52lb beast. Had it serviced, and my technician said this monster will go another 30 years easy. Great video!!

The great myth of my childhood was that Realistic was no good. We know a lot better now, and we know some of the best names built these Receivers & Integrated Amps for Radio Shack. Realistic was a fine name in Stereo!

I actually bought one of these receivers new back in the day. It was Radio Shack's top of the line receiver and had an output of 100 watts per channel.

I still own one of these, excellent receiver with plenty of heft and I love the tactile feel of the switch gear.

i believe there would be a market if they would still manufacture units like this. no integrated circuits. of all the units you have worked on Joe, this is one of my favorites a total classic look from the 70's 80's. beautiful

My Dad had this and it was paired with the Realistic Optimus speakers. It put out some serious sound and was one heck of a receiver.

Brings back memories. I worked for a Tandy service center in South Florida in the eighties. Fixed many of those beasts. One of Radio Shack’s best receivers.
