I love that games allow us to live fantasies we could never conceive of in real life, like owning a home.

The ghosts in Benirus manor have grand souls after level 19 or 20 and respawn every few days. So I just bought the house and left it haunted to use as a soul farm

I wish they had mannequins to display my armor and weapon collection

In my playthrough of the original Oblivion (and in my current playthrough) I used the Bravil house as my starter home, just for storage and a place to sleep when I was ready to level up. My mom would be in the same room, usually knitting while reading, when I was playing the game. When I moved to a nicer in-game house, I told her that I was giving her the Bravil house for her retirement home. I would make a point of keeping any yarn I found in the game and dropping them off in Bravil for her.

Drop a single torch on the floor, leave, fast travel then return. The torch will now be lit, filling the area with a cosy light. You can move it and place to your liking. Every home can be decorated using the telekinesis spell.

The idea that you can't buy a roman style villa in the imperial city has bothered me for all these years. The BIGGEST and MOST IMPORTANT city in the game has a freaking shack on the outskirts as the only player home.... like WHY?!?!!?

My house? The tree stump in the imperial city market district.

Honestly another huge downside of Frostcrag is the fast travel spawn point. Every time I want to stop by to drop loot and replenish, I have to run all the way up the mountain, up two sets of steps, through the front door to a load screen, and then another load screen for either the vault or living area portal. It would benefit GREATLY from a dedicated fast travel point that leads directly to the portal to the living chambers on the top of the tower

When I played the original Oblivion, I loved the Anvil House because I roleplayed my character as a necromancer, that basement is perfect for me.

They fixed the Bruma fireplace! Fun fact; In the original Oblivion the Bruma homes fireplace was unlit which was always ironic given Bruma is the coldest city in the game and all

the imperial waterfront shack is the default home, like breezehome in skyrim, the "perfectly acceptable" home that some may choose to leave, others may not

"This house is haunted and has a guy doing dark rituals in his basement."

My Addams Family Tastes: "What a wonderful place to raise a family."

I think should be added :
- Archmage Magic Guild Appartment which you own at the end of the questline
- Deloth House & Guild Master Chamber which you own and can use after the questline
- Priory of the Nine which you own after the questline
- White Stalion lodge, which you own for free after the fairly easy Leyawiin questline with the count and the "knight" orc

After Battlehorn Castle became a DLC for the OG game, every playthrough I did, the moment I escaped the prison and sewers, I immediately go to the castle to make it mine. I love it so much. The only downside is that Oblivion (including the Remaster) doesn't have the means to put weapons in weapon holder, books on cases, etc. I kinda wish that was something the remaster would have improved.

Hopefully in Elder Scrolls VI, we get another castle, complete with army and staff.

28:50 the imps respawn and can fill a grand soul gem if anyone was wondering

couldn't agree more about cheydinhal being your favorite. first time i went into cheydinhal, for the dark brotherhood quest, it was night time and the town just felt magical, idk how to explain it. the purple roofs with overall fairytale/gothic architecture and the starry sky is just chefs kiss picture perfect.

Bruma is probably the nicest and most underrated house.

frostcrag spire has:
- enchanting and spellmaking
- free grand souls from the vault guardians
- atronachs which can be used as followers, as magic skill training because they wont retaliate, or experiments
- a whole garden which you start with that also comtains oblivion plants and mana blooms(and a nirnroot)
- a temporary base alchemy +15 which allows level thresholds unlike fortify
- teleports to all the mages guilds
- a ring once you buy all upgrades, unlike the others is NOT leveled

Anvil's is best, because it being haunted is great feature that provides you with free respwning alchemical ingredients and at same time I use it to level up magic early game.
And Bravil is close to my heart because of my first playthrough of 2006 Oblivion, I didn't have small DLCs (so no free house), so this was the cheapest house and I used it throughout the game as my storage space for all loot I collected, and then I used nearby armorer to buy repair hammer and train my skill on that damaged loot. I also did not sell it because it would be bother to sell it all so the pile just got bigger and bigger.

I'm mad at myself because I love the riverfront, because of how easy it is to quixwan, run to it, go to my single chest dump, all my items inside of it then leave
