FireyJoker: Crazy about Kingdom Hearts
Aramau: Crazy about Pokemon

One thing I like about Opal: she's the Fairy Type Gym Leader...and her Gym challenges play on that. They're questions that normally have trick answers, at least in the fight with her. If you give the obvious answer, you get it wrong. Fae are playful and mischievous, and that fits Opal.

Honestly, the worst thing about Whitney isn't even the Miltank.  It's the fact that she friggen cries when you beat her and someone else has to give you the badge in her place.  It's like she doesn't even know what the point of being a gym leader is.
Misty: Oh, but Ash, you don't get to compete in the Pokemon league, now.  You're part of the Pokemon league.  As a gym leader, you have to stay in one place and let new trainers beat you if they are just skilled enough.  That's how this works.  We're supposed to go easy on challengers so that they gradually get better.  You'll have to lose.
Ash: WHAT!?

"Too many plushies to be considered healthy...."
Honey, that's still not enough

I can see why Josh married her. They both have an insane temper!

Ari first takes over
Me: Hey hold on a minute-
She talks about Pokémon at length
Also Me: I for one accept our new overlord.

Not gonna lie, that intro immediately made me quote abridged alucard.
'Holy shit she's sassy, I like her'

Mina doesn’t use a bong.

She’s clearly huffing paint fumes.

"it almost makes up for the- MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
"*oh no*
me: OH NO

Norman earns my top gym leader rank for one specific reason: My dad actually is named Norman, so growing up I was convinced that the game knew who my parents were.

Calling it now: if/when there’s a return to Unova, Roxie will have a Toxtricity.

It's a shame that Roxie was 3 gens early to have Toxtricity be her signature pokemon

“FIRE EMBLEM DIMITRI’S HOUSE— I mean three houses”

I FELT THAT

100% agree with you on Whitney. That Miltank ALONE is why I grinded my Machop into the ground until it evolved into a Machoke, then traded it to get it to evolve into a Machamp. You might consider it overkill...but if she's gonna cry after her loss, I might as well give her something to cry about.

Ari doing a series of countdowns like Josh? BURNER, MAKE THIS A SERIES! THE AUIDENCE DEMANDS IT!

"Gen 5 is kind of the middle child thats been forgotten"

Me: gen 5 hits differently intensifies

I have a feeling the resident Pokemon expert is gonna take the reigns on this one hehe

Opal is just amazing. The scene where she takes Bede under her wing had be laughing so hard. Now that's a memorable Gym Leader.

Personally, I’m a big fan of clay. He feels like he’s exactly where he needs to be in the game, he’s a pretty fair challenge that doesn’t feel like a difficulty spike, the town he’s a leader of is cool (especially in the sequel), his ace Pokémon is awesome, and his personality is entertaining

Fun fact: in the original script Erika was supposed to be a ghost type gym leader and in the original game data she was to be a possessed character. The more you know 😁👍
