Okay Ren…you officially have my attention. 👀🔥

First time hearing him, and the storytelling in “Hi Ren” was easily what impressed me most. Definitely curious to see where this rabbit hole goes!

What Ren song should I check out NEXT?! 👇🔥

We got a “Not what I was expecting!” for the bingo card!!

Welcome to the Reniverse,  Ren raps, sings, writes song and poetry, produces most of his own beats, plays multiple instruments, his collabs are God Tier and he is a great human being:yougotthis:

on your way to being a RENegade. congrats

The Tales of Jenny and Screech (three parts in one video, 13 minute version) is a great way to follow this up.

Gotta do jenny and screech.   The 13 min video....buckle up for the ride that is known as REN ROLLERCOASTER!!

Learning Ren's backstory is important. He has suffered significant trauma; emotional, physical , and mental. The fact that he has triumphed, and is realising his dream is a  part  of what makes his work so significant. When you add his enormous talent and range, well...
Since you are new, I'll give you a  rundown.
Ren was given a guitar at ten. He is self taught.

when he was in his first year of college, Joe, his childhood best friend committed suicide. Ren got a call at 3 Am that Joe was on a bridge, he ran there, but was too late. ('Freckled Angels' "For Joe'- listen to the live one he did in Canada  at night with the city in the distance)
At 19 Ren was spotted busking (street performances), and given a recording contract  with a Sony label.  While recording he became very ill. He had to go home to his mother's house to recover.

But he didn't.
His health deteriorated - all his joints ached, he couldn't eat, his vision was blurry, he slept 23 hours a day. Doctors couldn't find anything. Nothing showed up on blood tests.
They started to diagnose depression- bi-polar- chronic fatigue etc. He was given all sorts of medications, even becoming addicted to one.
Eventually they started telling him it was all in his head. His Google research only antagonised them. He was actually LAUGHED at!.
Every treatment made him sicker. Then he started having psychotic episodes. He thought he was going to die.
Keep in mind that all this time he was making music in his bedroom whenever he had the strength. The song to this time in his life is 'Crutch'

Ren heard about PANDAS, which is where a Strep infection can move to the brain and cause apparent mental illness. Ren lied to a doctor to get a course of antibiotics and saw a big improvement in his symptoms. That led him to an infectious disease specialist in Brussels. When he described his health issues, the doctor immediately said, "You've got Lyme disease.  Sure enough, tests proved it.

So his real illness was misdiagnosed and untreated for 8 years! He was confined to bed all that time, as his dreams and young years were ashes. He has suffered significant damage, not least PTSD, but he still gets muscle spasms, pain, and his gut is ruined. He can only eat meat and a couple of vegetables. There is brain damage of some sort.
He was offered stem cell treatment for free by a doctor in LA, and managed to scrape together airfare. His health improved somewhat.
So then Ren moved to Brighton (England of course) and was busking again to make ends meet.  Sony of course had released him years before.
He got together with some other guys and formed a band - The Big Push - there are tons of vids of their cover mashups performed on the street, which are really great. I like the 'Wade in the Water one, but they do all sorts- I Shot The Sheriff - War Pigs-  etc etc. Tons to enjoy.
after that, I'd recommend 'Sick Boi'.
Ren has succeeded without a label, he's independent, and yet one of his albums hit number one in the UK  - basically by word of mouth and social media and You Tube.  He still has significant health problems, and has had several stem cell treatments. However he is driven to create, and spread his messages. He thinks of himself as a voice for the voiceless, and promotes more research into Lyme disease, and greater understanding and attention to mental health struggles. He is also scathing about the music industry, our stupid destruction of the environment, and our general greed over people culture. All in all, with Ren there is something for everyone. That's shown by the range of people doing reaction videos of his work. We can all relate to 'Hi Ren'  because he describes the human condition.

Then there are the Tales- Jenny Screech, and Violet - Vincent's Tale....  LOL, the rabbit hole's deepening

There's rap 'Troubles' which has 2 versions one acoustic plus heaps more.  And his latest collaboration is with rapper Chris Webb- listen to 'Down The Road' a mix of blues and rap with an incredible guitar bit by Ren at the end.

That's the short version Hahahaha.
Just like to mention,           It's NOT a cult. It's a book club!

J'espere que vous ne vous arreterez pas à 2, 3 chansons, si vous decouvrez son repertoire, vous trouverez ce qui vous convient. Asylum, Down the road, Baggage,Penitence, Heretic, Wade in the water et tant d'autres ...
Merci pour votre reaction.

Ren, love 💚

54 year old Renegade from Louisville KY. Ren is such a wonderfully talented artist. Always love being able to watch someone on their journey down Ren's Rabbit Hole 🐇 🕳️. His art defies genres. He also is in and called The Big Push that are equally amazing.. You'll find us Renegades as very loyal to our Sick Boi..I'm sure your subscription numbers will take a jump on anything from the Reniverse. Remember A rising tide lifts all ships. Welcome to the Book Club. It's not a cult. 😂

This is a live performance.  Ren is just introducing himself to the world and giving you some of his background and some of his beliefs.  This is not any particular song that you bop to in your car (I mean you could), this is just a performance.  Ren has many songs that you can bop to in the car.  He does so many genres, from Rock, reggae, blues, rap and so on.  He is multi-talented musician and artist.  He excels at many instruments and his vocals are stellar.  His story telling is like no other, no one "independent or on the "record labels" can touch Ren's (Tales).  He owns the bardcore name he was given.

Also "Money Game" parts 1 through 3.... mind blowing!

Thanks for the great reaction!  Welcome to the world of Ren.  Subbed to follow your journey.  There is so much to look forward to.  Enjoy the ride!  ☮️💙😎

Multi-genre, self taught starting at 10 abd producing beats at 12. Signed to Sony but contract expured when he got very ill at 19- misdiagnosed and not correctly diagnosed until he was26. He us dealing with much damage done in those years. But has always focused on music. I suggest Sick Boi next and then Chalk Outlines live with Chinchilla for his singing voice.
Subbed for more Ren. Welcome.

Ren is a generational talent.  Whatever you check out next I'm here for it.  Subbed to see your Ren journey
