Three girls. One city. Completely different lives.
In this episode of Postcode Playdates, 9-year-old Daisy, 9-year-old Alicia and 8-year-old Sid live just streets apart in Sheffield — but their worlds couldn’t be more different.
⚽ Daisy is football-mad and happiest in a kit, not a dress. Growing up between two homes, she wants to make new friends in the city she only visits at weekends.
💄 Alicia comes from a big, lively Muslim family. She loves makeup, fashion and looking her best — and believes confidence starts with how you present yourself.
🎨 Sid lives in a small terrace house with her parents and sister. She’s creative, energetic and proudly marches to the beat of her own drum.
Over three playdates — at Sid’s cosy “mud house,” Alicia’s vibrant family home, and Daisy’s homemade football pitch — the girls step into each other’s lives. From baking and makeovers to Jamaican soup and conversations about religion, headscarves, phones and what it means to be “girly,” they begin to challenge each other’s assumptions.
There are awkward moments. Honest questions. Big laughs. And surprising new discoveries — including a newfound love of football and a fresh perspective on friendship.
What separates them at first glance might just bring them closer together.
Because sometimes the biggest differences live just down the road.
