We’re heading north for hunting season, and getting into camp turns into an adventure before we even arrive. Heavy rain, muddy roads, a sketchy bridge, and some of the wettest conditions I’ve seen make the trip in interesting, but we eventually make it to camp and get settled in for a few weeks in northern British Columbia.
Once we’re set up, it’s time to gather enough firewood, tour the full hunting camp setup, and get out on the trails. I’ll show you how we’re running everything with solar power, keeping food frozen, setting up the shower and kitchen, and making camp comfortable for a longer stay. Molly is also on her first hunting trip, and she’s already learning the ropes from Sophie.
Highlights For You
-Getting into remote hunting camp through heavy rain and rough roads
-A full tour of our off-grid camp setup
-Molly’s first hunting trip with Sophie showing her the ropes
Questions For You
1- What’s one thing you’d absolutely need at a remote camp for three weeks?
2- Would you rather sleep in the canvas tent or the ice-fishing tent setup?
3- What do you think of the solar-powered camp setup?
4- Have you ever had a trip where just getting to camp was half the adventure? Let me know below.
We’re finally settled in and the hunting trip is underway. Thanks for coming along with me, Sophie, Molly, and the rest of the crew. Subscribe and follow along because there’s a lot more coming from northern BC before we head back to the cabin.

We’re heading deep into the bush, setting up camp and getting ready for a few weeks of elk and moose hunting.
Don’t skip the ending… trust me. 😳🦌
