Fun fact about Rudy the Clown: he was never actually called Rudy until the English version of Dr. Mario 64. In Wario Land III itself, he's only ever referred to as "hidden figure". The Japanese version of Dr. Mario 64 just calls him "A Mysterious Figure". And Wario only refers to him as "Rudy the Clown" in Fortune Street.

So him even having a name is an entirely an invention of the English localization.

Actually, the Black Jewel is the second final boss to also be the main antagonist, the Shake King is the third in the lineup.

I find it kind of interesting that Wario Platformers are either Pirate-esque themed (WL 1, Virtual boy, WL2, and Shake It) or Avant-Garde Fever Dreams (WL3, WL4, World, and Master of Disguise)

7:00 another thing that leads to Rudy feeling more powerful than anything else in this game is that he's the only boss that can actually kill you.
Every other boss will just toss you out of the arena. But if Rudy gets his hands on you, you're just done. No fanfare, nothing, just straight to the game over screen.

I'd like to think that first Koopa just wanted to dip from Bowser and do his own thing, but ended up losing to Wario anyway.

I want to see more child-friendly nightmare fuel enemies like in the Wario Land games. some of those bosses wouldve terrified me as a kid, if I had played the games... if I knew of their existence

The one running theme to all these bosses is that they’re about as grotesque and/or creepy as Wario himself. It’s kinda strange picturing them sharing the same universe as the more sanitized Mario cast - though the same can probably be said for Donkey Kong, Banjo-Kazooie, and Conker as well.
