Superman's Goodness Is A Lie

Is true altruism even possible, or is it a moral fantasy? In this video we break down Ayn Rand's controversial philosophy on altruism and self sacrifice, then put Superman himself on trial to see if the Man of Steel can survive her argument. We dig into Superman's psychology as an
orphan searching for belonging, explore whether his heroism is really self sacrifice or self actualization, and ask a bigger question about every superhero in the genre. Can any hero be truly selfless, or does every act of goodness come with a hidden reward?

it's not the powers, the costume, the symbol, his alien heritage or the American way.
It's the fact that no matter how dark, how cold, how cruel the world may seem, he will always do the right thing.
People call him many things, hero, messiah, alien, invader, foreigner, menace, god, guardian, sentry, virtue, champion, omnipotent, man of steel, man of tomorrow, the last son of Krypton, the world's greatest superhero.
But he is........
Above all else.........
A Good man.
