The Sandman Saga, also known as Kryptonite Nevermore, was an ambitious 1971 storyline by Denny O'Neil and Curt Swan that began with Superman #233 and attempted to update the Man of Steel for modern readers. It didn't quite work, some of its most drastic changes didn't stick, and yet it still marked the end of Superman's Silver Age, and ushered him into the Bronze Age.
