After several months of using the Speediance Gym Monster 2 as my exclusive strength-training system, I’ve learned a lot about what it’s actually like to live with day to day.
In this second video in my Gym Monster 2 series, I cover the things that have stood out most — including some benefits I didn’t fully appreciate before owning it.

I look at how much space it saves compared with a traditional home gym, why I’ve found it significantly safer when training around injuries, the different resistance modes, cardio options, training reports, recovery guidance, the Speediance app, automatic rep counting and more.
I also cover a couple of areas that I think could be improved, including the Ring battery warning and the potential limitations of cable resistance for more dynamic Olympic-style movements.
One of the biggest surprises for me has been how useful the Gym Monster 2 has been while recovering from elbow and shoulder injuries. I can still train with meaningful resistance, but without having to wrestle heavy dumbbells and barbells into position before I even start the exercise.
And importantly, **there’s no compulsory monthly subscription**. Speediance does offer its optional Wellness+ service, but I haven’t subscribed and haven’t felt that the core machine is being restricted as a result.
If you’re considering buying a Gym Monster 2, I hope this gives you a better idea of what ownership is actually like once the novelty has worn off.
