Shout out to whoever actually listened to the whole thing before jumping to comments

He explained toxicity and fandom better then any anime fan could establish a characters power level

Man, the stuff about Deadzilla. Not gonna lie, that hurt to hear. Whoah.

This was deep man. You definitely given me different definitions of both toxic and fandom. I’ve been to a point where I’ve been embarrassed to be apart of the community because I’ve been just focusing on the bad stuff. Listening to this you definitely have made me more comfortable being apart of this fandom and in a weird has inspired me to do more for the community. Bring new folks into the community. Which I needed. The deadzilla news also broke my heart. I never knew him but I’ve watched him a ton when I was a kid. And he was my Inspiration for doing stop motion Kaiju flicks. And it sucks to hear the news. But we gotta remember that’s one person. And one persons actions doesn’t define what everyone in a fanbase is like. That was honestly hard for me to understand until I listened to this. Thank you for coming out with this! I think everyone including myself needed to hear everything you said. And sorry for the long comment.

“Godzilla fans in Germany”

I believe you mean “Frankenstein fans in Germany”.

I think there are ALOT of people who need to see this video.

Well, at least we can all agree that YouTube ads are toxic

Every fandom has toxic members and it's those toxic fans that the public pay attention to.

Hmmmmmm hard to say every fandom has toxic parts, it’s the minority of any fandom but it’s the bad part so it is the part that’s in the spotlight.

The fandom isn't all that toxic, but the toxic minority of the G-Fans are coming out in the hype train of Godzilla vs Kong

All collective human behaviour has polarizing aspects when groups grow large. That applies to any fandom of a popular property. The price of popularity in the internet age, basically.

Not usually. The Toho Kingdom forums definitely are, though.

So, what I love about this video is kinda how measured it is, and how it explains that all fandoms are multilayered. And to give some perspective, I've been a Godzilla fan my entire life and I JUST started to participate in the online community within the past year. And my experience has been nothing but positive. I think that the longer you participate and the deeper you go, you inevitably run into the awful parts. But they're not the majority and rarely ever even noticed by regular folks. But as someone who has participated in multiple fandoms, I sometimes joke that the worst part of any fandom are the fans 😆

After hearing that Deadzilla was a child predator, a part of me just has just died because I started collecting Godzilla merchandise after watching his great toy reviews and his amazing fan movies. Along with Cinnemassacre, he was one of those people that contributed to my love of the Godzilla franchise and the love of kaijus altogether. To hear that he is a child predator is just devastating to hear. I hope he never touches another social media website and another school after what he did. I also hope the Navajo Preparatory School starts investing more into the students' safety in those classrooms. If they don't, I hope they get shut down and the people responsible for such negligence gets taken to jail.

As a whole, the Godzilla fandom isn't toxic . . . It's just extremely divided. Everyone in this community has their own perception of Godzilla and how they want to see him portrayed. I mean, what you think makes a great Godzilla movie and what I think makes a great Godzilla movie are two completely different Godzilla movies, more than anything. In this day and age, where Godzilla is more prominent in American pop culture than ever before, I just wish for there to be more Godzilla content that can unite us fans together rather than divide us through petty differences. Remember when "Godzilla 1998" was the only American Godzilla movie and all the G-fans would come together, not only to talk shit about that movie, but also share their love and appreciation for the older Toho Godzilla movies? I honestly miss those days. I really do.

Still waiting for “Who Pooped In Rodans’s Cereal

ITS NOT AS TOXIC AS K POP STANS

MIB knows Malaysia,he is now my favorite youtuber of all time. I'm actually impressed that he knows a country most people don't know about

+ That's where I live so yea

Unfortunately, this fandom is becoming toxic since Unkn0wingly. the creator of the Man in the Suit analog horror series, canceled his series because of G-fans harassing him. The poor kid almost took his own life just because these grown people don't want to shut the f*ck up. I'm serious! Thankfully, the creator is doing well. It's a shame that not even good creative folks can't enjoy what they make, all because people like those don't want to respect each other.

I wouldn't call it "toxic" I would call it "nuclear"
