In this episode of Surprise Barbershop Visits, we explored La Boca to meet Ari, a 16-year-old barber who started cutting hair at 12 and now runs his own barbershop in his bedroom, in a tenement just steps from La Bombonera stadium.
Ari studies, plays soccer, and manages his time to keep working as a barber. We met his family, saw how he gradually built his space, talked about his rates, how he got his first clients, and how he used to do up to 18 haircuts in a single day to buy his own tools.
Then we went out to explore the neighborhood to meet Rojas, one of the barbers who worked with Ari when he was just starting out. We visited another barbershop set up in a bedroom and ended up doing a challenge: both barbers cutting the same client's hair, half and half.
