“You let one and stand up, then they ALL STAND UP. Those little ants outnumber us a hundred to one, and the moment they figure that out, there goes our way of LIFE! It’s not about food. It’s about keeping those ants in LINE. THAT’S why we’re going BACK. Does anybody else want to stay?”

Such an epic speech. And Flik manages to one-up him.

This movie radicalized me 😂

In high school we had to write an 5 page report on the economic meaning behind this movie in my economics class

You don’t know how heartwarming it is to see people enjoy a childhood classic for the first time.

"You let one ant stand up to us then they all stand up" and "if they ever figure that out there goes our way of life" understanding this line is what the Government fears

It took me 27 years to realize this was Seven Samurai with bugs before I knew what Seven Samurai was, awesome.

I remember Hopper being the first Disney/Pixar villian who truly terrified me as a kid.

It's funny. As a child, you don't really remember what the villain says, but you DO remember those cold eyes, that intimidating voice, those threatening gestures... even how he died... 🥶

If it weren't for his brother (which I realize was intentional), I think I would've been scarred for life. 😅

You know I never realized how much I learned about Slavery/Enforced Labor from a kids movie 😅.

Grasshoppers don't typically eat other bugs, but when the grass shrinks in the desert they all get bundled up on the last patches of greenery which does weird things to their bodies. They change colors and start looking weird, their butts start curling and they go bananas. Thats when grasshoppers turn into locust, when they're locusts they eat other bugs, they even become cannibals, and they of course swarm in order to find food in other places.
Thats probably whats happening to Thumper since hes so wild and jittery.

My younger brother had this movie on 24/7 for four years during my childhood. Every scene of this movie is etched into the membranes of my being.

this movie has the Negan before the Negan

The movie takes the old fable of The Ant and the Grasshopper and mixes it with Seven Samurai.

Hopper probably wins the award for the most horrifying Disney/Pixar death. Being ripped apart and eaten by tiny, adorable giant creatures while being completely helpless to stop it.

This movie taught us to stick up for ourselves and not be pushed around by a bunch of bullies who use fear to control us

Navi was such a joy this reaction, she was so into the movie :)
43:50 - Big agree with Pat, Sandlot and Little Rascals reactions would be fun

This is my personal favorite Pixar movie. I'm glad you all gave it a watch.

Hopper is such a greatly written and acted villain. (Probably because he's voiced by a villain in real life)

“Have you been playing all summer?!? You think this is a game?!? Well guess WHAT: you just LOST.”

One of the scariest game-overs from a kids game.

FunFact: Thumper is a Locust, not a grasshopper but yet he looks like a grasshopper but a white color and more feral
