Funny enough, Ganacchi is more accepted now than Ronaldo. He's so over the top irl that translating him into the game was natural.

no way is this ACTUALLY gonna be every guest character EVER (looks at the runtime) holy shit it's gonna be actually every guest character ever

27:56 The T-1000 had more dialogue in MK1 than he did in T2.

Fantastic job on creating what's likely the only comprehensive visual guide on the subject on the internet. Can definitely see people coming back to reference this video in the coming years.

Yo this is HUGE! Can't wait to watch through it all

Thanks for the Duels of Fortune, Schwarzerblitz and ExploJudo segment! It was a pleasure for me to help with the documentation for the video!

1:42:46 it was actually confirmed that when square enix went to disney about sora being added to smash, disney were all for it. Where the issue actually came from is the games creator, tetsuya nomura. He believed that wherever sora appeared must fit with kingdom hearts story, so it took him time to try and connect it before he was ok with sora in smash. This also means that sora has canonically met steve from minecraft and solid snake in kingdom hearts lore

The thing about PlayStation All-Stars is that the 3rd Parties basically told the development team "You either take who we want to see in your game or you lose a 3rd Party character" and since this was a fairly new and small development team making their first game they really just had to take what they could get.

Ergo, Konami told them to use Raiden to promote Metal Gear Rising and Kojima agreed because Snake was already in Smash, Namco told them to use young Heihachi because TT2 was a thing at the time, Capcom told them to use reboot Dante and refused to let them give him his Classic look as alternate costumes because they were going to include those as DLC in DmC: Devil May Cry and they didn't want to have them spoiled.

When you look at the fighters they wanted to include and the work they did with the characters they did get you can tell the developers really wanted to make a celebration of PlayStation, but executive meddling just tainted that and that's a shame because I feel some platform fighters that got releases afterwards and got better reception honestly just feel a lot more corporate and devoid of genuine passion than PSASBR.

Ultraman and Emi are from a movie thats very stylized. I would recommend it. Its a cute movie and a great love letter to Ultraman.

FINALLY SOMEBODY AGREES THAT BRAWLHALLAS CHARACTERS ARE EXPENSIVE!

1:53:47 Salvatore Ganacci is exactly this in City of the Wolves. This in combination with his enthusiasm and love for the game completely sold me on his inclusion

They are strong, like me.

My understanding is the big foot is for balancing the figures because Todd is a merch-first kinda guy. Maybe two would make him too uneven.

28:06 I think the reason why they got T-1000 was because the actor who played him also played Peacemaker’s dad too.

"What the hell is SNK's decision process."

That applies to SNK games in general, not just guest characters.

WOW, the title is no joke, this video is insanely comprehensive. Going all the way down to tiny indie fighters like our game is some crazy work. Thank you so much for including Duels of Fortune, our guest fighters have been some of our favourite characters to work on! ❤

A few days ago, we actually released a third guest character, being Globule from Decline's Drops! It's alright that you didn't include her in the video, as we can only imagine how long this took to make. Just wanted to let it be known that we're still going strong with guests!

This is an absolutely insane amount of work and I have no idea how you didn't explode from the mental stack of researching all of it! Keep doing your thing, Baberuthless! 🎉

Feel bad for the ps all stars devs because they wanted og Dante and other characters, but the game was in development during what could probably be the worst time for a PS crossover game.

That was a fun video, that really was a ton of guest characters! Couple things to note though:
- Sony definitely screwed over BOTH Street Fighter X Tekken AND Playstation All-Stars, the former because they wanted exclusivity for not just the guest characters but also the DLC, which is what lead to the on-disc DLC to happen because they were originally meant to be base-game characters for the PSVita version for some odd reason. The latter was screwed over because Sony barely gave the PSASBR devs a budget, so they couldn't spring out for any of the 3rd party characters they actually wanted, and they even had trouble adding some 1st party characters too like ICO and the Wanderer. That said, for as weird as Big Daddy was, he was actually pretty easy to get since the Bioshock creator really wanted to see him get in.
- "Ba-Oh" and "A-ra-le"

38:32 THE SHAAAAAADE!!!
