Hello this is Nick Nanavati. Thank you for sharing this, it’s so wonderful to see how one moment has had such an amazing impact across the entire community.

I want to share one thing about Tony, who’s really getting villainized over this. I’ve had the pleasure of playing him 2 or 3 times since then. He’s really chilled out, taken the lesson to heart and we’ve had genuinely very enjoyable games. I’m not sure if he still plays 40K. But i do want to share that his sportsmanship is reformed from what i can tell.

Thank you!

The "I don't wanna get you like that, but you got Alex on that."

Absolutely love this line. Pure if you can dish, you can take attitude. 10/10 Karma

Tony: Lives by the sword. Also Tony: "I can't believe I'm going to die by the sword!"

Live by the pedantic sword die by the pedantic sword.

"we both know what i was planning to do" yeah ok bud. Like we didn't know the other guy planned to actually have a movement phase.

so funny he tried to argue that it was clear what he wanted to do as if the space wolf player intended not to move his entire army.

I've seen this "infamous play" several times on several channels, and as someone who doesn't play Warhammer (the closest I play is Blood Bowl) I never once understood what was significant about the situation and why.

This is the first video on the matter I've seen that succinctly explains what was going on, to a level where a noob like me can FINALLY understand it.

Thank you so much!

The fact he's even helping him measure out where he can place his units is what does it for me, like he's reassuring him into the mistake.

"I didn't want to get you like that, but you got Alex like that..."

Those are some strong words about karma right there. The dude kind of deserved that. I've had some fun in tournaments but have seen enough really bad sportsmanship done to others that I stopped playing in them. I just play with friends who I know will have fun and be fun to play against.

“Sorry bro you skipped your move phase” is the same exact energy as “two explores”

TLDR: Never try going full Sweat, as there is always someone more sweaty than you.

"Well, I wrote your list it's only fair." is probably the most savage thing a man has ever said to somebody else over a game of 40k.

"But you knew i was gonna do this. Its different than what I did because I don't want to lose"

Feels like Alex is getting overlooked here. His opponent is being dickish, the judges back them up, he is frustrated but stays professional and concedes rather then make a stupid scene, then in moments cools down enough to say, ok, you get the win, but lets play it out anyway because I'm here to play the game first.

"Rules for thee, not for me."
Tony made his bed... He did not want to lie in it.

"its not about intent though"
- guy arguing that his opponent knew what he was gonna do without him saying anything

The audacity to argue about the exact same thing he caught someone else with was beyond insane.

Showing up to the Las Vegas open with an unpainted army is wild work.

This is the Warhammer equivalent to "treat others the way you want to be treated." You can't play like a sweat and expect people to treat you like a scrub. Fair is fair.

This reminds me of that hell's kitchen video where a chef forgot her butter and the others dont help her hoping she will lose, but one guy throws her a stick of butter saying basically "I'd rather lose fairly than win like that"
