I see MattieFlips full hour long video, I liked the video before I even watch it

Currently sitting at my office job with a mug of coffee watching this. Felt called out!

I would pay even more if used car comes with this kinds of video.

Hi german mechanik here i work in a audi vw contract workshop and its normal to have this mutch problems XD

ANOTHER FULL VIDEO??? Goated 🔥

I cant express how relatable the crash out about staying in school is

“I JUST STOLE THIS AUDI Q5” 🗣️🗣️🗣️ ive never been more hooked

German car mechanic here, and i learned on Audi. At first, great video and good work. I just have 2 thing to say.
1st is that if ur brake caliper compresses so hard like u showed, it is bad. On these VW calipers its typical especially with saltwater like in Canada that the brake piston rusts inside the caliper. And thats also why the left disk was more rusted and the pads were worn down more. You can compress it, but it wont work for long, i give it half a year than it looks like this again, or it will get hot.
2nd the inner bushing on the suspenson arm will also not last very long. You need to tighten the bold at the subframe as the car sits on its wheels. Because you thightend it as the wheel was off the ground the bushing is fixed in this position, but its not the position the bushing sits all the time. It will last a few years, but it will wear out faster as the one on the right.
Again i really like your videos here and on insta, and i dont want to sound mean or anything. Just a few tips from a german mechanic.
And the cars here in germany are also rusted like that, we have also heavy saltwater in the winter 🫡
And i hope you all understand what i have written 🫡

me sad no sea shanty 2 :(

Hey Mattie, hopefully you don't think I'm a hater but in fact you used the wrong sealant for the valve cover. In many VAG engines like this Q5 the valve cover is also the journal for the cams. If you use regular silicone you run the risk of adding way too much clearance for the cams. In this sorts of engines you should always use anaerobic gasket maker instead of regular RTV.

Who else saw the locknut key under the drivers seat, in the vacuum shot? That would so happen to me…

hey mattie, mechanic speaking from eu working on european cars, so whenever you get a vag for rear brake service with electronic parking brake you are never supposed to turn those cylinders, you should only push them in because you ruin the mechanical part inside the caliper, imagine it like you have a nut and a bolt, the bolt is the "axle" powered by the motor, and the cylinder is the nut, except that the cylinder doesnt spin when you engage and disengage the epb, the nut is behind that cylinder and it gets fixated in the cylinder so it doesnt turn, because the only thing that's supposed to be turned  is the "bolt" part of the epb and that is turned by the motor itself. thats why you only need to push back the cylinder after you put the rear epbs in service mode, hope this helps, love your videos❤
ps if you have a dead motor with engaged epb you can take off the motor and release it manually

That rear brake job is most likely why they traded it in.

Dealer probably quoted them for new pads, rotors, and calipers, and they drove off in a shiny new Audi that didn't need a ~$2,500 USD repair bill.

Thanks for the long form content gang

Big fan of the hour long videos, if treated right the first gen q5 can be a great car. I only worked on the premium plus models that a family member had, so the no Bluetooth audio on the lower trim is surprising.

Long form videos are amazing keep it up

I have a 2007 Mercedes S550. German cars are a pain in the ass.

That subframe really shows the difference in road salt,  my car is 30yo and doesn't have 5% of the rust this 10yo audi has, if we had snow and salt on the road these older cars like mine would be literally gone as a rust pile 😅

gotta love an honest man flipping cars

Isn't it strange how the majority of flips on youtube are always super easy and fast money!  If anyone of us bought a q3 at auction it would have a dead miss, trans slip, and need a new body control module.
