What really happened to Mike Schmidt? On paper, his career looks like a dream. He hit 548 home runs. He won three National League Most Valuable Player awards. He won ten Gold Gloves. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 1980 World Series. And he spent all eighteen of his seasons with one team, the Philadelphia Phillies.

Led the NL in HRs 8 times and never hit more than 48 HRs in a season. No steroids.

Greatest 3rd basemen to ever play the position

C'mon, love him or hate him but when I was growing up a Met fan it was always Kingman and Schmidt in the home run race. He was a force to be reckoned with.

The research says… The research says…. The research says…

Schmidt was never a drunk. He's now working in the booth with the Phillies. Loathe fake news just to get clicks.

You say be respectful with my comments. I say that you are not respecting Mike by calling him a drunk in your headline. That is a very low blow sir. You never even mentioned drinking in your video one time. This was a very good video about Mike’s life. Not sure why you tried to tarnish a good man.

Biggest DRUNK??? WHY is that in the title of this video???

Mike Schmidt treated people really bad. He doesn’t have a good reputation for dealing with fans.

Before the steroid era he was 7th on the all time home run list.

I really enjoyed this Vbideo however it was misleading. It was not about just drinking @ i watched it all since he has always been my favorite Phillies player. As a longtime Phillies fan I have seen many Phillies players and teams come and go.He gave us the best gift ever 1980 and a World Series trophy. My own Father was finally was able to experience this before he passed away in 1986. Drunkenness portrayal is not accurate or reflective of the content. I am 73 and I wish him a healthy happy life and retirement.

The research says you said ‘The research says’ way too much

I thought Mike was going to come clean about drug use that tarnished other players getting drugs from the Phillies caterer Short. Mike. Was too much of an idol of youth for him to be implicated
