I thank Dave Winfield as a kid growing up troubled and disabled when he played he cared a lot for a kid from being poor and single parent .

This was actually the best thing that ever happened to the Yankees. Without this feud with Dave Winfield, Big George would have never been suspended in 1990. Without the suspension Gene Michael would have never been allowed to put the together core of Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Mariano Riviera, Jorge Posada and Andy Petite plus trading for Paul O’Neil.

Reggie Jackson was on that 1981 Yankee team that lost to the Dodgers........In 1982 was when Jackson went to the Angels.

This whole saga is crazy, an owner going after a player, calling him Mr. May, and paying a bookie $40,000 to get dirt on said player. Only George Steinbrenner would pull something like this

How can you even call that a feud? Winfield was attacked and did nothing more than go out and play ball every day. Steinbrenner agreed to the contract and then treated Winfield as if he had done something wrong. Disgraceful on his part. Winfield is a better man than me the way he handled the situation.

I did't know about Winfield's charitable foundation. Now I am humbled and grateful to God and to Dave Winfield's humanitarian activities. God bless him.

I'm a Yankees fan since Reggie Jackson and the suspension of Steinbrenner is a god send. General manager Stick Michael was able to hold on to young talent and build a dynasty. George was notorious for trading young talent away for has been baseball players. Georgie is trash.

Like most people George was a complicated person. As a fan of the Yankees growing up in the 80’s you hated him some days and loved him other days. He wanted to win and spent money to do that. His battles with players was at times ridiculous. He had Mattingly benched for having long hair,The face of the franchise and one of the most beloved Yankees of all time. I feel the suspension was the best thing that happened. Had Steinbrenner been there he would have traded away the young talent and it would have been the same old story in the late 90’s. Thank goodness stick Michael and buck were allowed to build those mid 90’s teams. That’s my two cents.

Anyone that blames Winfield at all for this doesn't know the story.

Steinbrenner never grasped the concept that signing big names doesn't guarantee good clubhouse chemistry.

Once the core assembled in the Gabe Paul era aged out, the Yankees became a sad joke, just like the Mets.

GS strikes me as behaving and sounding very similar to tRump.

George was Trump before trump. The same personality ego maniac. Narcissist. All about him.

George treated Winfield wrong, that why Reggie did not resign. Also, Steinbrenner racist ass should of went to prison, and banned for life. What he did to Weinfield.
