i was fascinated by the fashion discussion after the reaction. the sentiment was basically "i don't like high fashion" and then they proceeded to go through all of the high fashion looks they distinctly remember.

Regarding how Miranda "handled" the cerulean talk. I think he's forgetting that it was the fact Andy laughed at the belts. She laughed to herself and made light of something they themselves took seriously because it was their job. So Miranda responded by educating her on why small details in fashion matter and embarrass her because herself, and probably everyone in that room, felt very offended by her laughter.
Like I think work ethic 101 is "don't laugh at what your boss takes seriously" 😅

I can't believe you cut the cerulean scene 😔

@GathodeGayTube 5 months ago

She’s not saying she invented cerulean!? But that all the trends that you acknowledge exists. Start in that room. And it’s true. She is that powerful and you not liking that won’t change that. That’s her point

what cracked me up the most during this reaction was Jake & Aaron agreeing with Nate about how Andy spends too much time with her work, yet they were asking where he was during the art show. idk, man, prolly at work because he's a chef and they work a lot of late nights. 😂

calvin immediately understood that the friends and the boyfriend were the problem AND understood the importance of the cerulean scene too? its unfortunately so rare... what a prize you are sir

@Rebelishgirl 5 months ago

Undermining the cerulean scene in the discussion feels so disconnected. It's not about caring what you wear, it's that whatever you buy has been influenced from somewhere at the top, that simple. Calvin is spot on

Fun weird fact about this movie: Stanley Tucci is now married to Emily Blunt's older sister, Felicity. They met through this movie.

The most fascinating thing about watching reactors (groups of men, usually) be fully on Nate's side is that a) he's a chef then a sous chef, the movie doesn't address that obviously he would also have a very busy schedule, and that Andy has been (presumptively) okay with it during their relationship, and b) they both knew ahead of time that she was only going to do it for a year. I think Nate's feelings are entirely justified, and he has the right to voice his concerns, but the way he chose to express them was really shitty

34:22 she didn't leave him she was pursuing a new passion and he felt left out, her friends and him accepted all the benefits of her job and the expensive gifts but expected no changes whatsoever.

@KirbyFierro 5 months ago (edited)

34:18 he is probably the ONLY person I've seen defending the boyfriend. Also he didn't say "you've been neglecting me" he said she doesn't have integrity...he basically told her she has bad morals, which wasn't true at all

@catherinesanchez1185 5 months ago

I expect Calvin to be able to explain vehicles and firearms , but I am surprised he gets how fashion works

@JourneytoReel 5 months ago

her bf is also in a high pressure job but no one bats an eye. all she needed was a year until she had access to more opportunities but the bf couldn't cut it...

@lily-_- 5 months ago

for anyone curious about the cerulean scene, it was probably cut out of this video because they had zero reaction to it lol

they watched the entire thing in complete silence and then Aaron just went "hmmm" at the end

Fun fact - Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt are now related. Stanley is married to Emily's sister, Felicity. That also makes Stanley the brother-in-law of John Krasinski.

Jake seems stuck in this "Miranda is wrong so everything she says is wrong " mindset. BOTH Andy and Miranda were flawed (more so Miranda ofc) but the level of importance she puts on her job is not exaggerated, she's right.

@embadge 5 months ago

Her personality did not even change one bit, she just got busier 34:18

While the fashion industry has its own set of problems that plague it, this movie is one of the pieces of media that made me appreciate fashion a bit more.

42:20 One of my favorite little behind-the-scenes interviews; the screenwriter talks about how Meryl Streep suggested changing the line from “Everybody wants to be me” to “Everyone wants to be us” since Meryl felt like it wasn’t about Miranda being vain…it was about the belief in that being the life all successful people wanted. As well as the idea of Andrea finally being someone who understood and wanted to chase it with her.

When I learned what it almost was, and watched the scene again I was like “oh…that’s the kind of actor I want to strive to be on anything I work on.”
