It was Merryls idea for Miranda to talk softly instead of yelling at everyone.

As you can see it pays off ridiculously well.

I love that you guys thought we would disagree with the takes you all had about the boyfriend and friends but this might be the one time everyone collectively agrees 100%

"Florals? For Spring? How groundbreaking."

My favorite quote from this movie

What makes me mad about the boyfriend is that he works as a chef. One of the most notorious jobs where your hours are spontaneous and long. I doubt Andy would have bitched about him missing her bday if he had to work a busy weekend.

Guys guys guys. The guy who PLAYS Nate is on your side.

39:25 Oh no no no noooo, we all hate the friend group and boyfriend, they were asses to Andy

Fun fact: Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue (and the inspiration for Miranda Priestly), was not invited to the premiere. She did, however, attend an advance screening for the press along with her daughter, dressed head-to-toe in Prada. Wintour's daughter could be heard nudging her through the screening: "They got that right!" Although never commenting on it publicly, she reportedly really liked the film despite initial skepticism.

An insult from Stanley Tucci's character is enjoyable for the simple fact that his delivery is it's own pure art form.

It’s so funny that they thought people would be on the boyfriend and friends’ side. I’m pretty sure everywhere I look people are in agreement that they’re horrible. I personally wish Andy ended up single by the end of the film considering how bad her love interests were

Emily's friend is Brazilian fashion model Giselle. Her one stipulation for being in the movie was that she did not want to be a model.

39:54 the way all of y'all stop yelling just to listen to meryl streep, as if y'all were part of the movie

This won't surprise you: most of the designer clothes seen in the film are real. It's one of the most expensively costumed movies ever made.

The designers mentioned in this movie all donated pieces for them to use.

Just like with every other reaction to this movie, once again we are gathered and ask ourselves: Will they be on our side or Andy‘s friends‘?

Media student here. This movie is literally a perfect example of how the media industry actually works, especially in the scene where Miranda analyzes Andrea’s sweater. They make us study it also in sociology to show how much a person can communicate only with their body, so we basically analize everything about Miranda

The football ahh scream, hands on heads finding out Emily doesn't get to go to Paris was absolutely hilarious, I love how invested yall were in this 😂

How you react to the friends + phone scene is a defining moment for every reactor who watches this film lol, you guys are on the right side of history!

Merryl donated her characters entire wardrobe to charity.

Last time I aggressively honked at someone in Texas, I had a gun pointed at me. Maybe that's why the South is less confrontational....

I used to be a personal assistant and this movie really does nail so many aspects of it. No one really talks about how much of a high you get from being someone’s everything like that, but it’s so consuming and exhausting and rewarding. The stress could kill you but after leaving, I miss it every day. Anyway, this is my favorite 2000s film. Love seeing people’s reactions!

The thing that gets me about the birthday scene is that the guy is acting idiotic.  If a 3 star Michelin chef showed up as a surprise at the restaurant this guy worked at to do a 1 day feature. He'd blow off everything else to be there.  He expects her to make him a higher priority over a situation that will give her contacts that'll change her life.  SMH.  It just doesn't seem realistic most guys I know don't care about their birthday.  They certainly wouldn't care if the g/f missed it for a potentially career altering event.
