BOZ SHEPHERD vs WOLFDOG — WILL HIS ANCIENT INSTINCT KICK IN?
The Boz Shepherd is a giant livestock guardian developed to protect flocks against formidable predators — including wolves. But what happens when one actually comes face-to-face with an animal carrying wolf DNA?

Meet Rudy, an enormous Boz Shepherd who has loved almost every dog he has met so far.

But today I wanted to test something completely different.

I introduced Rudy to River, my blue wolfdog, to answer one fascinating question:

Would River’s wolf DNA ignite a dormant instinct inside Rudy to recognise — and potentially dislike — wolves?

Would Rudy treat River exactly like another dog?

Would he sense something was different?

Or would generations of guardian instinct suddenly come to the surface?

The reaction was fascinating… Watch to see what happens when GIANT BOZ meets WOLFDOG!

⚠️ SAFETY: The utmost care was taken during this controlled introduction. Both animals were securely managed and closely monitored at all times, with experienced handlers present. No fight was encouraged, intended or ever going to be allowed to occur. The purpose was purely to observe Rudy’s natural behaviour and reaction to River.
