When this shelter husky was surrendered for biting, we stepped in for an extreme grooming transformation to reveal the truth. 🐾 Get 30% off the air-dried dog food we feed our rescue dogs with code Rocky30 ❤️🐶: https://rockykanaka.com/sundays30 Thanks Sundays for Sponsoring! The second I sat down next to Kiki, I knew the bite history didn't add up. This Siberian husky wasn't aggressive—she was buried alive in her own severely matted fur in 100°+ heat with dangerous foxtails hiding under her coat. We had just hours before the animal shelter closed to attempt one of the most satisfying dog grooming makeovers we've ever taken on.

The transformation she goes through isn't the easiest...but it's so worth it 🥹❤

Keeping a husky outside for 7 years in Southern California is CRAZY. Those owners did not deserve this beautiful girl.

She’s not vicious. She was just pushed beyond toleration. Poor thing.

I own a husky, the fact the owners let her fur end like that means it's not only months, but YEARS of mistreatment and abuse

Wow. She's actually very well behaved and calm. That's a great dog right there. I've never seen a husky so calm through a grooming.

7 years old and not housebroken? She's been neglected her whole life.

So remarkable that she's got such a lovely personality.

How could owners neglect her so badly and then blame the dog as an excuse for why they’re giving them up?

My Husky bit me once. It was my fault for not listening to her. I addressed the issue and she lived on with us to the end of her natural life. 18 years.

I think these owners should be charged with neglect. They absolutely didn’t do right by this dog.

I love how she smiled when you told her that she’s a “good girl” 💕

The family surrendering this girl was the correct choice. She will find a new home.

It looks like she didn’t even recognize her name. She just ignored it. The way she’s been neglected is criminal.

dogs are not yard ornaments!! they are family members ❤

Poor girl. As an owner of a female Husky, they are not a breed for a lazy, complacent keeper. But they are the quirkiest, most friendly breed of dog you’ll ever have the privilege of being with if you give them the care and attention they need.

poor baby 😭 i have zero empathy for her previous owners, that's just a neglect on it's highest level. she's such a sweetheart ❤

I get so sick of hearing owners' sob stories. I, too, try to have empathy, but I, too, am so full of anger and frustration with how irresponsible people can be. For the dog, irresponsibility turns into discomfort, loneliness and lack of love. Thank you for giving this wonderful dog the groom she so deserves.

I don't even believe this dog bit someone. To be THAT neglected and in THAT much pain, and be so gentle during this groom, speaks volumes to what's true and what isn't. Poor girl was left outside like lawn furniture, just suffering. For years. This was no family. I hope this is the new beginning Kiki has long deserved. Poor sweet girl😢

@bruceherb8402 13 days ago

This beautiful girl was never a family pet. She was just a possession. Huskies absolutely need to have a job to do to be fulfilled.

I am not convinced that she bit anyone actually. She would have absolutely bitten in that grooming van if she was a biter. She seems like an absolute sweetheart and even if she bit anybody, there had to have been a really good reason for it. I'd adopt her in a heartbeat if I could. Also what a relief she would have felt after getting all that matted fur off. ❤

It's a miracle she didn't die in the Southern California heat under all that fur. Her former owners should be in prison. That's animal cruelty and torture.
