Quirky bass player is definitely an element of nu metal, but too much quirky bass and you’re Primus!

As a survivor of the 1990's, I can affirm that Nu Metal fans had the same rep as the girl in your English class that wore cat ears and hissed at people

Finn at 80: gather round, grandkids, I have a story to tell!

Grandkids: grandpa can you tell us about Nu Metal again?

Watching kids today think that nü-metal was inclusive and a cool aesthetic is a riot. They clearly never got whipped by a wallet chain worn by the dirty kid who smelled like maple syrup and cigarettes.

Literally every velvet mall goth girl I knew owned a ferret or a rat, or both. No exaggeration.

I got into nu metal right after my emo phase in middle school. I'm pretty sure my brain just seeks out music that got me picked on.

I thought i wore Adidas in a Johnathan Davis way.... turns out i wear it in a beastie boys way... blame my mom for that 😂

I genuinely think that for the most part, you don't get to decide which genre your music belongs in. You get told by the audience which finds you.

Finn, Nu metal people don’t know what a sommelier is, say something more relatable like tweaker.

"My culture is not your costume" LOL

Thank god I was an industrial kid. That's way less cringe...right? RIGHT?! I'm gonna go cry now.

Fun fact: basses and guitars used to weigh around 250lbs in the early 2000's, that's why people played them all hunched over.

I always thought Faith No More kinda kicked off Nu Metal as well in ways

Kids listening to nu metal today is like my time in the late 90s/early 2000s when we liked the classic rock bands of the 60s and 70s. Everything from 20 years before your time become cool again for a while.

I'm 44 and played bass in a few nu metal bands since around 98. Had the dreadlocks, pierced eyebrow, big a$$ cargo pants, sweat wrist bands, etc. I now have a recording studio and continue to write nu metal music.. I just never stopped all these years.

The girl getting upset at Daron usage of the R-word is so funny because that’s the least problematic thing related to him.

What I love about this revival is the fact that I bought White Pony album when it came out because all alt chicks at my school loved it and it worked. And now decades later same strategy is still working somehow for young lads. My prediction is that early era Nine Inch Nails will come back next.
