To be fair to transformers, they aren’t man made robots they’re aliens so of course they wouldn’t look like they were built at a shipyard.

There's no war in ba sing se, there's no sequel to Pacific Rim 🗣️

the biggest point is, the human brain is at it's core designed to calculate how hard it needs to move an object of a specific weight to get it to go where we want. so when you see a multi-ton ship being dragged around your brain is thinking "holy shit what kinda of force would i need to move that" and the numbers are outside what our brain can naturally do sure... but we still understand the fundamentals, and if you break the fundamentals all other suspension of disbelief goes out the window

I love that someone probably say," fuck it, I want a giant robot fight Godzilla"
And we got Pacific Rim

Transformers are not mechs, they are an alien species, that can actually transform

I immediately felt offended when he slandered my boy Optimus and his homies

I've often wondered why the 20ft-tall autonomous shapeshifting robotic alien organisms are more agile than the 250ft-tall nuclear-powered man-made piloted mechs...

Actually the reason why they don't just use conventional weapons because of Kaiju blue, if tje Kaiju bleeds to much it will contaminate the waters so they use mecha to knock out kaiju with less spillage to prevent contaminating the waters and make it unhabitable.

3:46 the Jaeger look like they were built in the 2000s while cherno look like was built in the 70s.

Man, I love pacific rim.

The average Transformer is something like 4 meters tall.

Please don't tell this guy about Gundam or Armored Core (especially 4th gen), bro's going to have a heart attack

Was casually watching this and had just assumed it was a 1 million plus subscriber channel, this is so well made and narrated

10:18  it does work but in the pacific rim lore the kaijus blood or kaiju blue would completely turn the oceans into a hazard and it would also have taken them a long time to take down a single kaiju.

My reasoning for why the Transformers move the way they do is because I'd assume they are just scaled up humans. They are not something we built they are a sentient race of aliens, so when you think about it it makes sense that their bodies would be adapted to be able to do all of the stones they do at the size they are, just like how if we were larger and had to deal with higher gravity because of our mass our muscles would naturally be bigger to compensate

It doesn't matter if the math doesn't add up, as long as it feels real.
And vise versa

5:32 oh yeah, Pacific Rim did an amaz- IS THAT SANS?

WE will not stand for this Evangelion SLANDER

I wouldn't call transformers heavy mechs, they are technically heavy but they are on the light side. In comparison to giant towering mechs like Eva and Jaeger. The agility of a mech comes from more advance tech of the story like strong lightweight materials, or who knows what jargon material they use. But I agree, it's about weight.

The thing you're forgetting is the fact that Transformers are a living species, not a human construct...

12:40 also if you watch the first movie you will see that  all the robot vs kaiju fights are in the night because the darkness makes everything look more realistic and less CGi

My friend, do not slander Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann designs when each has a unique silhouette and identity.
