So one of the reasons I wanted to make contact with Leo was to talk about the water maker. I was a water treatment professional for almost 25 years repairing and maintaining some of the most sophisticated water treatment systems in the world. I have some concerns about the safety of his system from a bacteriological perspective. In this video we already see biofilms starting to appear on the braided hoses. This is a serious problem and will only get worse if there is not an aggressive disinfection protocol in place. Here we see mechanical cleaning but every part of the system that is not copper will grow bugs. I would be interested to see the manual for the water maker to see what they recommend for cleaning and disinfection.

You know, I’m not a boatie person at all - I enjoy seeing skilled people make things (mainly metalwork) and I came to this channel after seeing Keith Rucker work on the capstan. I was captivated. I went back and watched every episode from the very first, and continued to watch, never missing a video - but I had thought that, once the build was completed and Tally Ho launched, I would lose interest.
I find instead that I am insanely impatient for the next instalment and I cannot wait to see every detail of the journey! I hope to see Tally Ho and her wonderful crew when she arrives in England. Fair winds and following seas!

Beautiful leatherwork, done properly by someone who is clearly multi-capable with a skill set that complements Leo and who has bought into this adventure with the same enthusiasm as him.  Think about the odds of that happening for a moment... Well done both of you.  I think that all of this needs to be in print some day.  It is literally an epic tale of sheer bloody mindedness, skill, persistence and patience.  Also good to see two of the great team that helped make all this happen.
