Today’s kiln reveal is a tiny one, but full of personality. Katy Perry behaved beautifully — well, except for that middle shelf that ran way too hot and turned my stone denim green! Pottery keeps us humble.

• Several mate' cups I made for my missionary grandson — in very earthy combos
• A few glaze experiments, including one that crawled right off the cup (pottery keeps us laughing too)
• My first-ever plates, glazed in soft pastels
• A sweet mid‑video phone call from my granddaughter, who’s on her way to the Philippines — the best kind of interruption
• A couple of handbuilt pieces from the grandgirls, including a boogie‑pink tray with handles
