Hi, I’m Maxine from Colleypit Pottery, and welcome to my small home studio in rural Worcestershire, UK! I create whimsical, spiritual, and nature-inspired ceramics that bring a little joy and magic into everyday life.

🌀 About my work:
Most of my pieces are made using Earthstone ES5 white stoneware or Potclays white speckled clay.
I usually fire to Cone 5 with a 10-minute hold, depending on the glaze and finish I’m working with.

Oh my that crawling is extreme! I believe you're on to the cause with oatmeal. I've seen you use midnight run often and the inside where it's alone, the surface is fine. Pottery lessons!! Love your work Maxine.

Oooh I love that toad house! How fun is that!!! That sounds like sooo much fun going to the pottery!!! I just love the leaf vase. Hahaha. I love that saying, flipping flop!! WOWZERS that is extreme crawling for sure. Did you use any of those glazes on other pieces? They actually look like the new crawls glazes. This usually happens when glaze is way too thick. But how craaazy that it did it on the bottom part where there is only one glaze. Of course the gift pieces got ruined. Ugh ! They do say that you shouldn’t add water to the oatmeal and only gum solution. I have it written on my oatmeal bottle to not add water. When you put the oatmeal on did it look like it was cracked? That’s a good sign that it’s off.

Hi Max, so good to see the mugs that I saw in person over the weekend. Even better seeing you in person! I really like your different mug size trials - I can only guess the oatmeal was the problem as you said for cappuccino mugs. Hey, now you have a free crawl glaze! 🤣 Andrea

I'm thinking the oatmeal likes to be on top instead. It always trys to crawl off when it dries. Maybe it peeled the glazes on top of it off before melting.

Love the mugs, I’m sitting making a few more wurms and watching. That crawling is a mystery, must be the oatmeal but I wonder why ?
I’m so pleased the weekend is over, I have had serious fomo watching 😂😂😂. ( Just joking , I wish we had more potters groups and events in Australia . )

Max I love the shape of the mug with textured turquoise and seaweed over honeyflux! And the glaze is beautifu! Same with the cappuccino mugs..the glaze jumping off is wild. Could it be the pearl white? 💙

It looks as though it is the oatmeal as from the Image from the video it’s done the crawling at the bottom of the mug? Hopefully the glaze didn’t spit on your kiln walls! I have today unloaded my kiln and have got a few pin holes 😭 just on my Amaco honey flux but in the past if I have used river birch over the top no pin holes! Which is certainly a mystery 😆
