The reason we have a lot of these psychological loopholes is because they're shortcuts to make us actually process things faster. They're usually good.
The guilt tripping thing is brutal. The one’s guilt tripping don’t always know they’re, and the one’s getting guilt tripped don’t always realize it either. It’s a difficult chain to break.
Video starts at 00:02 😒 In all seriousness, thank you for making such quick and informative videos. If I wanna watch something short and entertaining, I’ll put on one of your videos and know I’ll be getting the best content. Your endless ideas and ways of explaining everything with metaphors and breaking stuff down so anyone can understand it is a talent. I’ve learned so much from this channel, thank you for running it :)
Ooof 10:29 having my memories discounted was the worst thing a person has ever done to me. It was done by the person who had me write him a book of love notes, etc. He knew I documented everything and still was able to make me question my interpretation. So glad that’s over.
Thank you ^^ the lovebombing and gaslighting hit particularly hard 😓😶 but could listen to the way you talk and explain even the painful things all night. 😘
The social proof one is something that has pretty much the opposite effect on me. I see people standing in line somewhere, I avoid it. People are standing somewhere, staring at something - even if from the corner of my eyes I can see there is actually something going on I force myself not to look, because even glancing at it makes me feel like I am committing a social crime. One item sells like crazy, I avoid it like the plague because I expect there's probably a trend going on somewhere and those things are right now produced faster and in lower quality. I hear "nine out of ten dentists recommend this" and I ask myself, "but what is the reason the tenth one doesn't recommend it?"
Foot-in-the-door technique is also know as the yes ladder.
In marketing and sales, it's a sales funnel
