Imagine how Americans would react to a video game where you play as a resistance member fighting American soldiers who are invading and occupying your land?

I saw a scene from the recent call of duty on YouTube that immediately made me not want to have anything with the game. The scene shows US soldiers going underground finding a lot of money, gold, and ancient Mesopotamian artifacts. They don’t steal it, but in there they find weapons of mass distraction. While in real life they stole a lot of gold and artifacts, and found no weapons of mass distraction… the audacity.

As a gamer and video game designer, I think videogames may be the biggest islamophobia propaganda since 9/11

Growing up playing games, I cant understate how much the first assassin creed game meant to 10 year old me. Altaïr was first Arab “good guy” I had ever seen in any media.

The only person who opened up my eyes about this was Bad Empanada when he filmed himself playing a game that involved shooting the IDF, and it got taken down and caused controversy, when nobody flinches when it is an Arab being shot in video games. Thank you so much for opening up our eyes even more to this. This is horrific propaganda.

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing."
—Malcolm X

YEEESSSS. Thank you so much for making this video. I am not Arab or Muslim, but I am Mexican. It is truly frustrating and infuriating to see how we are either drug dealers, hitmen, or useless victims.

Imagine your home being bombed and you and your family being killed because someone you don’t know, named Osama bin Laden, destroyed two towers you had never heard of over two decades ago. you literally will get killed even without knowing the reason.

I forgot that Israel used white phosphorus in Gaza after Oct 7, and being reminded of that was a shock to my system. Not just because it was criminal and barbaric, but because Israel has now visited so much horror and devastation on Gaza that my memory of it is starting to blur. And thats truly terrifying

They dehumanise to make it easy for their minds to process the horrific ways they treat certain groups.

People are waking up to this but nowhere fast enough

White phosphorus doesn't just burn you, it causes what's called phossy jaw. Basically, your bones break apart and you die.

The fact is that the ones making these games are portraying themselves as HEROES most of the times when they are the ones who started the most wars historically.

A notable exception is Fursan Al-Aqsa Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where you play as Palestinian resistance fighters fighting IDF... Which was subsequently banned in numerous countries for being "evil terrorism!!!"

Arabs and Russians are always the villains, nowadays I start to notice the Chinese start to join the club smoothly.

This is why as an Arab i loved Assassin's Creed Mirage. Its the first AAA game that ACTUALLY fairly portrays Arabs and pays homage to the rich history they have

This is also in movies and on television. It's the result of a deliberate policy and has been going on for decades. Imagine how big the outrage would be if the roles were reversed.

nobody is born racist, you have to be trained into it.

This reminds me of this joke I saw a while ago

A KGB spy and a CIA agent meet up in a bar for a friendly drink

"I have to admit, I'm always so impressed by Soviet propaganda. You really know how to get people worked up," the CIA agent says.

"Thank you," the KGB says. "We do our best but truly, it's nothing compared to American propaganda. Your people believe everything your state media tells them."

The CIA agent drops his drink in shock and disgust. "Thank you, friend, but you must be confused... There's no propaganda in America."

Call of Duty went from a game about fighting an war against an opressive regime to glorifying genocide.
