A Monster in Belgium: The Dutroux Affair, with Matt Graves | STUFF THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW

In 1996, hundreds of thousands of Belgian citizens marched in public protest against an apparent conspiracy of the highest order -- the kidnapper and serial murderer Marc Dutroux was, they claimed, not acting alone. In today's interview, Ben and Matt sit down with special guest Matt Graves, the creator and host of Le Monstre, to learn more about this case.

Nearly 30 witnesses were killed during this trial, this case goes all the way to the highest levels of government. Dutroux was very much groomed into this lifestyle.

I lived in Brussels at the time and my husband and I marched in the White March protesting against the cover-up of the Dutroux case.

These children were victims of the Mothers of Darkness. He worked for them, the police were involved.

This is why we shouldn't let sex offenders out. Many countries give a slap on the wrist and turn these assholes out to do it again with no tracking or follow up. The system fails us all. This guy should never have been let out

it's not really a mystery why the gendarmerie seemed afraid to act, and that is because they were told not not act by people in the establishment that had a say in their paycheck and that is the directive they followed and operated under until the situation became untenable

Just to help Belgium's reputation, because this case shouldn't be the first thing that comes to mind when you hear "Belgium": That funny little country gave us the Smurfs and French Fries. In the 90s they actually had a nation wide vote on how their national dish should be like, four sides or six sides, and the hexagonal fries won.

The guy who Jean-Michel Nihoul (Dutroux's co-conpirator) worked for was a man called Baron Benoit de Bonvoisin, "the Black Baron" (or Baron Noir), a banking family aristocrat whose castle was described by survivors/victims. He was in Le Cercle (aka Le Cercle Pinay), the CIA-founded transatlantic policy group, made up of European politicians and businessmen, sponsored a right-wing coup attempt in Belgium, has deep links to the Belgian fascist scene as a financier, and one of his henchmen (Madani Bouhouche, a cop and another person implicated in abuse, as well as in assassinations and extreme fascist organising) was suicided... with a chainsaw. The Belgian X-Dossiers and witness statements suggest that Bonvoisin used to delight in the torture and murder of kids, and had hunts on his land, where he and his elite guests would force kids to kill each other. Survivors were able to give detailed descriptions of the interior of his castle.

Belgium is the mother of corruption of the western world. And there's a castle in the Ardenne where they still are active. Safe in the forests.

Benign liberal institutions scattered throughout the world and commonly in Europe are easily exploited for their soft policies. It's not until crime touches them personally that they (we) become conservative in a relative hurry~
