Gosh, it's almost like the crossbow was the ranged powerhouse prior to the creation of firearms.

9:38 "Henya, they have crossbows in Canada too"
"ahhhhhh"
Perfection

Henya: haruka is in Canada so shes fine

Me looking at the same crossbow bolts at Walmart and Canadian Tire

It's easier to buy a crossbow than it is to buy a firearm, since you don't need a background check.

Yeah, crossbows were recently outlawed in Japan in light of the recent political assassination and a few other things. A friend overseas said a lot of punk teenagers were shooting stray animals, including infant pups and kittens for shits and giggles. People complained and pushed for banning them for purchase to no avail since prosecuting minors is nearly pointless over there unless they did something VERY heinous. The assassination of Abe expedited that.

For reference, most hunting tips are meant to make the target drop relatively close to the location where it was shot. Very few people want to track a deer for long after it's been shot and ran because it hasn't quite bled out yet. Larger wounds help speed up the process.

Kentucky Ballistics HAS to know that Vtubers are enjoying his content 😂

That man just realized why we used lighted nocks. Also, his instinct to check the blood on the fletchings makes me think he's shot a deer or two before lol

12:25 “let’s goooo” that’s the American side of Henya talking 😂

In the US, any person above the age of 18 can lawfully purchase and own a crossbow. Though, as the gun control community is slowly coming to realize that both crossbows and regular bows are not just archaic weapons, but still modern and deadly devices, we are starting to see more restrictions being placed on crossbow ownership in recent years. Many states have imposed a licensing process to own crossbows and regular bows.

Which is hilarious when you consider that across most of the US black powder muzzleloading firearms are not legally considered firearms and thus you do not need a background check or any form of licensing to own them. US weapons laws make zero sense.

So crossbows were designed to penetrate armor, knights, samurai, made no difference, put a bodkin point on the end of your bolt and it’s going through them and maybe out the other side. The church tried to regulate them because it meant a peasant with little or no training could kill a knight who has been trained his whole life for battle.

i know logistically it'd never work but somehow getting henya a kentucky ballistics range day would be cinema

Love that Henya looks at damn near everything with wide-eyed innocence, and is amazed by it lol it's really endearing.

Mechanical expanding broadheads are terrifying. I remember one that had tips that opened up to about 3". You're basically cutting 3" holes in whatever you're hitting.
I would much rather be shot with a 1oz 12 gauge slug than hit with one of those. There's few things more dangerous to be shot with than something that just cleaves 3" holes through you. The amount of trauma... There's a reason it can take down animals that are over a thousand pounds.

Crossbows are no joke, they are insanely powerful. When I was a kid one of the archery instructors at camp brought a crossbow and while we were messing around with it we shot it into the frame that holds up the targets. The bolt imbeded itself a solid foot and a half into wood. Nobody was able to get that bolt out of that target stand for three years.

Crossbows are more easier than guns to get however there are some limitations and sales and states you don't need a license for it 1:14

Henya went from adorably excited seeing a zombie torso on a table get ran over by a truck hauling reversed ass to adorably concerned for Scott's well being after he got glassed

8:45 Bare in mind Deer are considered a pest animal in the US and in their areas are typically overpopulated due to lack of predators. Deer are also much tougher than humans or ballistic dummies.

12:35 hey it olli
