the reason the subtitles say "tighten" is because it's actually what Hal thinks is his superhero name. when given the suit by his "space dad," hal asks what the "T" on the suit stands for and megamind replies with "titan. it was the only name i could trademark." however, hal being dumb, hears it as "tighten" instead. we see this in the scene where hal, now in his super suit, goes to visit roxanne and we see "titan" spelled out amongst her papers, showing his true name. yet when hal engraves his name into the city using his laser vision, he misspells it as "tightenville"

MegaMind didn’t stand a chance when it released not long after Despicable Me. It didn’t get enough recognition as it deserved. I like the Looney Tunes humor that plays on the “Superman backwards” scenario.

And the fact that MegaMind’s sidekick is called “Minion” is the icing on the cake.

I love how Metro Man had a whole revelation about how he and Megamind had their destiny chosen by the city and never got to think about what THEY wanted in life. He even chose the one career that his superpowers didn't make him immediately good at, music. He wants to practice and get good at something he is passionate about and Megamind got to be the hero for once earning the love of others he desperately wished for in his childhood.
This is such a good movie that managed to switch some of the classic superhero stories around just enough to make it unique and interesting.

This movie was definitely ahead of it’s time

i love this film, and Hal is such an effective villain because he’s literally just an r/niceguy

I love the detail with Metro Man deciding to go after a music career. It would be the one thing that his powers don't give him an advantage over.

Well this was certainly unexpected but cool nonetheless, this movie deserved so much more than to be accused of copying Despicable Me of all movies because Megamind is a far more superior movie by every margin I really hope you enjoyed it

Hal misspelled Titan as Tighten because he's illiterate, that's why they call him that in the subs xd

One detail I love, is the reason Metroman does music of all things aside from the logo.
Music is one of the few things his powers do not help him with at all. So he has to work hard to be good at it.

I still can’t believe they got Markiplier in this movie 😂😂
You guys love Metro Man’s dance to Interworld by Rapture?

I love the "No You Can't" poster 😂

hal has been creepy and borederline scary since the begining of the movie i would NOT keep working around him even.

Megamind has a lot of details to notice in a second viewing, for example, in one frame for the scene you were watching at 9:22 you can see MetroMan using his super speed.

I love Megamind so much, it’s such a brilliant movie and was totally screwed over by Rise of Gru coming out right before it. It really leaned on taking Superman and spinning it around

Also was kinda of both laughing and shaking my head at every red flag of Hal’s going right over your head lmao. Hal was always a villain, Megamind just gave him the power to be a villain on the outside too. The VA did such a good job of channeling that “nice guy” tone

"Your so naive Roxie. You see the good in everybody even when it's not there, your living a fantasy. There is no Easter bunny, there is no tooth fairy and there is no queen of England. This is the real word AND YOU NEED TO WAKE UP"

41:28 that 1 line was WAY ahead of its time.

I love megamind

Megamind is super smart
It just he loses everytime against Metro Man because of how Op he is
Also
There is No Cardi A
There is No Pre Malone
And There is No Old Zealand

48:02 "is there any Megamind 2?" God a wish it didn't

A theory on why Megamind was just kept in prison since infancy: his own safety. If the prison gave him up, the government wold be the first to snatch up the alien life form that couldn't yet advocate for itself and disappear it into some underground lab forever. The warden and any other prison official who watched over him from the beginning probably realized that and did the best thing they could in the situation. As long as Megamind was under the prison's jurisdiction, the government couldn't touch him.
