Rich people stay rich by pretending to be broke, and poor people stay poor by pretending to be rich.

Be like Asmon, rich in your bank account but poor in hair.

The guy renting a fake airplane so that influencers can pretend they have a private jet is the modern version of "When there is a goldrush, sell shovels"

imagine buying handbags when you could be buying a fully customized and fitted fullplate armour

As a chauffeur who's worked as a driver for a rich person for a while, it's true, liability reasons. Also they don't dress to impress or care to impress anyone at all. They care about 1 thing their money can buy them. Comfort. If you see a rich person being driven around in a luxurious mercedes. It's not because that car is half a mil. It's because that thing is comfortable as hell, you can go full speed over speed bumps and hardly notice it. Stretched vehicles are comfortable to drive aswell, just a bit annoying to do tight corners with, but it's really comfortable even as the driver.
Also, never talk to them about money onless you are rich yourself, because they'll assume you want something from them. Just never bring it up, buy your own lunch/drinks when waiting, just never ask for anything (except your promised salary) and you just might get random bonus' and tips.
Same for famous people, don't talk about their fame, job or social status, just don't. If it still is a topic of frequent conversation, the person is usually not very likable/nice. If they never bring it up, it's probably a relief to them that you don't either. That's how my poor ass keeps getting reinvited to rockstar parties anyway

Buying things we don't need, with money we don't have in order to impress people we don't like.

brands like Gucci aren't really what actually wealthy people use... they're aimed at people who want to pretend to be rich

"you're bound to come across an influencer that seemingly has a better life than you"

If they had a better life they wouldn't be posting about it on instagram instead of coping

"Dont put sh** on yourself to impress pigs"
i cant belive you said something so meaningfull😂😂😂

You’re telling me influencers are soulless liars and pretenders? I knew that 15 years ago.

Buying cabin in the woods to block out the rest of the world sounds like the best kind of materialism

Bullying some kid cause they didn't have a $40 cup is so stupid, wtf.

I was materialistic in high school and I cringe thinking about those days. These people actually have fully developed brains and are still this way though.

Whenever I hear someone describe themselves as a "social media influencer" all I hear in my head is "I''m a giant douche bag."

You need to find the right balance between dying with a bunch of money and spending every paycheck as soon as you get it.

"I just spent 10-15000 on this hobby and I started playing ten months ago."

All the 40k players, "Amateur!"

Asmon gets rich while making himself look poor

Completely opposite lol

My dad bought a modest house while all his friends were buying huge places with all the bells and whistles. He has a good job so I always wondered why he never reached higher. I asked him one day why he didn’t buy a bigger home like his friends and he told me he didn’t want to be house poor like all his buddies. That talk made me realize that going into debt to show off is not worth it.

15:49 "It's like basically putting shit on yourself to impress pigs." Damn, actually well said.

A very wealthy person once told me there are two types of people. Ones who tell you how much something cost, and those who tell you how good of a deal they got.
