If you liked this video, I also did every difference for Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy. Here it is: https://youtu.be/wSACkdGv8p8?si=Y0GjgzO2Q7k9UnzB

I can't believe they call it The Complete Saga when it's missing the life-changing feature that is "Yoda Chair". Misleading advertisement!

the loss of yoda chair was a tragedy

Padmé’s blaster sounds so much better in the original

I'll never forgive them for scrapping the "Huh? Wah!" from those pilots. They deserved better than getting muted.

What’s crazy is I played both as a kid and didn’t notice most of these difference. Except Yoda Chair. That one really stuck out.

Giving Amidala a random blaster in The Complete Saga instead of her characteristic pistol from The Video Game is a change I will never understand.

Darth Vader also uses Anakin’s animations in the original game.

The Sith version of Palpatine is called "Darth Sidious" in the original game, but "The Emperor" in the complete saga. He also now gains the ability to use force lightning, just like Count Dooku.

8:10 I still don’t understand why they changed it. The original silver pistol was way more accurate and she would’ve been the only character to shoot green laser bolts. The sound is also way more accurate and cooler. She still uses this pistol in the cutscenes in the CS game what makes the change even weirder

Here is a difference everyone missed: In the original Lego Star Wars: The Video Game, in the final cutscene of Episode III, C-3PO is watching Padme give birth outside the hospital room with R2-D2, while Obi-Wan is by her side on her bed, comforting her. In The Complete Saga, C-3PO is replaced by Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan himself is replaced by an alien doctor.

Also, when Luke and Leia cry in that scene, tears are flowing from their eyes in the original game.

I think it's funny how the text True Jedi appears as a response to earning a 'usually' big amount of studs, even though the Jedi ways are focused around rejecting materialism and prized possessions.

Bro the animation of Anakin going through the shoots looks so much better in the original!

Man I wish they’d make the video game more available to play. I have such nostalgia for it.

I love that the stormtroopers in LSW1 have the clone trooper animation, implying that they're basically just phase 3 clone troopers

Great work! Just a couple things: It’s not that the LSW1 sound effects are quieter in TCS’s prequel levels: most of them are just BROKEN. The level-specific sound effects weren’t coded correctly when porting the prequel levels to TCS, so they just fail to play. This is especially noticeable in the AOTC levels.

Also, I’m pretty sure auto-aim is still a thing in LSW1; it’s just that the Clone Troopers are all classified as a “good guy” in LSW1, so your shots don’t target them when playing as a  “good guy”.

Other than that, great job on this! Keep up the great work!

During the opening cutscene to the level Droid factory, Padme's hand clips through the doorbell in the complete saga. This is not present in the first game where It works as intended.

In the original characters that can hover like Jango can do it forever but in the complete saga they can’t

It feels so weird to see people experience these changes backwards as they grew up with The Complete Saga.

I can not properly express the joy me and my friends felt seeing the Prequel Levels updated with the newer mechanics introduced in The Original Trilogy.
Vehicles were now rideable.
Purple Studs were added to a few levels.
They made the podrace easier.
They added a 6th level to Episode 2 to make use of the newer vehicle stuff.

I am still sad though that Yoda lost his chair as they just reused his OT moveset. With Yoda looking identical, there wasn't a point in having separate versions.

One note about the different Vent animations for small characters - in Lego Star Wars 1, Young Anakin & Boba Fett had unique animations of their own. Anakin would jump in & jump out of vents, whereas Boba Fett would dive in & roll out.

6:13 This will always make the first game superior in my eyes. You simply cannot leave out their yells for the joke to land.
