DEALERSHIP IMPREZA…WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

This is my new to me 2009 SUBARU IMPREZA!
Found at a local dealer for 6000 bucks, and 140,000 kilometres on the clock, I decided to roll the dice on this old, but surprisingly clean Impreza!

But behind the veil of fancy showrooms, khaki pants and endless free lattes may lie some dirty little secrets this dealership may not have expected me to find.
Nonetheless, I take a deep dive into my first ever dealership purchasing experience and address some interesting, bizarre and straight up shocking things that I found.

Was this a one off? Or should we be examining our preowned, dealer sourced vehicles a little more thoroughly? Hopefully a video like this can spark up some honest discussion on this age old topic.

There is not a SINGLE car from 2009 on this PLANET that would ace an inspection report like that. Right away this would be suspicious. Tommy certainly does Ly.

I had a similar experience with purchasing my MazdaSpeed 3. I knew about its issues but expected a dealership to at least fix the VVT problem before selling the car, but unfortunately I had to learn the hard way. Nice vid, definitely subscribed to see this play out. Love the Impreza!

I use to work for a Subaru Dealership In Canada for 3 months until i quit because i didnt wanna scam people, but the inspection sheet is bogus, we would only replace small things like headlights, etc that is literally a safety hazard, and could drive for 15 minutes for a test drive, but big things like engines or tranny issues were left untouched. So my dealership would sell a car, then it would break down on the way to the new owner's home and we'd have it back the next day... We dont need dealerships, I dont like teslas but i like their order model, just order/spec your car and wait for it to arrive, dont have to deal with sales people/scumbags... note I wanted to work for a Subaru dealership because i love driving subarus and they are amazing in Canada... too bad shitty sales people are everywhere.

Mine raised the price because of "the financing bank want it at that price". Then had a fuel rail sensor problem, so misfires and stalling

If you figure an inspection is typically one hour or two if food is involved then at a shop rate of 150 an hour it should only cost about 150-300 to pull the wheels and drip tray pan. Some remanufactures paint brake components for the shelf.

I just got my 2008 Impreza 4AT, 4959 CAD after fees, head gasket leak and no record from Subaru ever doing the timing belt, rear axle leak. At least got a year powertrain warranty on it... Doing head gaskets next summer and timing belt+pump whenever I have some extra cash haha...

I'm shocked you had any "faith" in a dealership to begin with. By and large they are scammers. Not all, there are a select few that are good, but, probability-wise, you're going to encounter one (or several) scammers before you find an honest one.
