I went to an America's Got Talent taping once. Before ANY of the acts audition in front of the audience, the production comes out and tells the audience: standing ovation on 1, 2, 3. now, everybody look up and look surprised/scared. Now, act bored. Then they pick some audience members for the close-up shots of people yawning, laughing, etc. (without anybody on stage.) They do the same with judge dramatic reactions. THEN, the auditions begin and you find out why you were looking up scared/surprised... there's an act with a guy doing aerial stuff. I left after the second audition.

I am very conflicted, because today, you didn't play well.

"Ah yes, I totally agree TwoSet. 5 strings on a violin is absolutely sacrilegious!" I say sipping coffee knowing nothing about violin .

New TwoSet series: Try not to roast challenge

TwoSet: These shows are scripted, we want realism!
Asia's Got Talent Judge: Gives real, straight up opinion
TwoSet: 👁👄👁

Wow! But they still need one more sob story to win the competition.

In the minds of the judges and audience, an instrument is the same as a person singing. The higher the note is, the more impressed the judges and audience will be.
