I hope people don't assume I'm solely a pokemon channel now 🤣 Clarifications below:

-They travelled through Saffron SIX times, not 3 nor 5, if what I'm assuming is correct. The more likely option is they accidentally either went around it, or under it like the games but they just didn't show them going under it...SO WHATEVER YOU WANNA BELIEVE! lol

-The trainer with the 100 win streak's unofficial gym is called AJ, not Damien. Damien is the dude who abandons his charmander 😭 (Thanks Kit5953!)

-Also, I totally should have clarified this in the video but the episode numbers I used were the original Japanese airing order since they got all jumbled up in the 4kids version

-As many of you (@mind_magician-11, @ShoveNot, @PdamAlatte, @blackdoomduck) have pointed out, the trip to cinnabar could have been not Sinnoh, but Unova, since it's got the pokestar studios AND the desert. Only issue is that it would be such a far distance away from Kanto so I can't see why Lapras would drop them off there.

-Or it could be Orre from Pokemon Colosseum! Since there's also a desert AND it's based on Arizona! Cr: @malxire, @ShoveNot

-As quoted from Luigifan305: "The space between Sinnoh and Kanto includes Almia from the 2nd Pokemon Ranger (closer to Sinnoh), and Kitakami from SV's Teal Mask DLC (closer to Kanto). The Sinjoh Ruins from HGSS are also somewhere in that general area as well."

Speaking of that Sinnoh trip back, the existence and authority of the Pokemon Inspection Agency in Dark City implies they were already back in Kanto at that point. Thanks @Squirtlegamingwasplushand77! Maybe it's near the outskirts mountains!

-As quoted from SuperBuchi: "7:30 Cerulean cave is located in the mountainous regions to the north of Cerulean, AND it features underground water features while being home to populations of high-level (possibly abandoned) Pokémon. I'd say it's a good match, especially when in the games it's a Police Officer who stops you from entering in the first place."

Now I see why Gary was always ahead of Ash.

Gary finding time to get 10 whole badges makes so much sense now.

As a kid, it bugged me that Ash wasn’t following the route of the games. As an adult, I love how much of a fever dream the Indigo League was.

I feel like I've never seen a nonhazardous rope bridge in any work of fiction.

Now let's have him do Johto and drive him up a wall.

Zoro levels of directional sense

lol Gary didn't even NEED the car

Brock is the "i know a shortcut" guy that always gets you lost

I rewatched the original anime some time ago and, after Fuchsia, they just gave up, they went full "it is what it is"

I can tell this will be a fun new series if it does continue

i’m laughing so hard at this dude they just be going anywhere, no wonder Gary was so much ahead of them😭

No wonder Red was just waiting on Mt.Silver😂

Can't wait for the eventual Sinnoh map video to start with a random red line already going straight down the middle of the map.

They didn't go to cycling road because Ash wasn't about to remind Misty that he owed her.

Okay, but the route isn't Ash's fault. They actually had a decent route until Brock took over map duty.

The powerplant in the anime is indeed meant to be the one in the games, in fact in Yellow you can even catch Muk as a reference.

This is like the Odyssey in the sense that the journey is extremely inefficient and needlessly long

“The games aren’t the entire map”
-that one kid in 1999

To be fair, this is somewhat accurate to my route through Kanto as a kid with no internet.
