"It's a Water-type just because it's related to pearls."
... I somehow never put that together.

For the Grass type, I think the title should go to Rotom Mow.
Every other form of Rotom produces what their type is associated with (heat/fire, cold/ice, etc), except for Mow. It’s not made of grass/plants, does not produce grass, if anything it literally cuts down grass by being a lawnmower
Even every other grass type mon is at least made of grass, can grow plants, or has some connection to plants, except for Rotom Mow

Goodra is based off of ancient drawings where knights fought giant snails instead of dragons

I would've said Trash Coat Wormadam for the least steel type pokemon. The "trash" surrounding its body is based on wall insulation, which has fiberglass in it, not metal. I guess technically we don't know for sure that it's based on wall insulation, but it's bright pink and fluffy. What else could it be?

I would've nominated Smoliv for Normal simply because I genuinely don't get why it's Normal. Most Normal dual types are "regular animal + light elemental attribute" like how Pyroar is mostly a normal lion but with a fiery mane and Sawsbuck is mostly a normal deer but with flowery antlers but Smoliv is a walking plant which seems to be the norm for pure grass types and even a lot of grass dual types but it gets Normal added on, for some reason.

8:52 nincada are based on cicadas that can spend 18 years in the dirt and then molt immediately and fly once they reach maturity so i think ground for nincada is a good fit. Since they spend their entire life as nymphs in the dirt they have as much claim to ground type as diglett.

Dodrio can learn Fly because the Japanese name can mean both "fly through the sky" and "jump through the sky". When it uses Fly, it literally just jumps for dozens to hundreds of miles. And it's Flying-type because it's a bird and gets a lot of Flying-type bird moves like Drill Peck.

I disagree with Sinistcha, because in regular tea you'd remove the leaves.

Also we've seen Doduo and Dodrio flying in Stadium almost 30 Years ago

5:33 honestly I’d argue Slither Wing represents the fighting type the least.  At least when you look at Great Tusk, you can understand why it’s a fighting type. Slither Wing doesn’t look like it has a reason to be fighting type.  It’s just a giant moth with stegosaurus elements. At least you said Great Tusk is aggressive and confrontational. Slither Wing looks more cuddly than confrontational.

Sinischa is matcha, which isnt just leaves steeped in water. Its ground up tea leaves dissolved in water. Much more grass-type than polteageist

I think Urshifu Rapid Strike should be a runner up for the water type, since the only reason its water type is for its fluid movements.

9:00 "If gloscor was a poison/flying type, my life wouldn't change whatsoever"... Comp players would disagree 😂

1:25 Before Tera existed, Normal had a history of being a type that had access to multiple other types, so it figures the Pokemon with access to all types would be normal

Considering how Missingno. implies the flying type was originally planned to be called the "bird" type, I think it's more accurate to say the flying type is representative of flying creatures, rather than the concept of being able to fly, so I'd argue the worst pokémon to represent the flying type is not the one that can't fly, but the one that's the least bird-like (and the least like any other flying animal like bats, insects, dragons, etc.).

In which case, sky shaymin is a pretty strong contender. It is very clearly based on a land animal, and its ears kinda look like wings, but they're still ears. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, sky shaymin has the same "flight" method of walking on air as doduo, and doduo is at least a bird.

1:03 this is a somewhat controversial opinion, but I think base castform should be flying type.

Absol has a terrifying aura.

A couple things to add about the Paradox mons featured here:
- Although it's not its preferred attack style anymore, Great Tusk was shown to still be able to roll in the anime. It turns into a spiked tire, and the tusks somehow tuck inside the trunk when it curls up. They may have bent the physics a little bit to allow for that...
- Iron Moth's poison type could be a reference to radiation poisoning. If it's been modified to be some kind of artificial sun (with its wings even combining into a sun shape for some attacks), then the wings may be emitting UV rays strong enough to cause harm.

One thing that may help argue Azumarill’s Fairy type is that it may be inspired by both the Easter Bunny (egg shape and patterns), as well as the moon rabbit (Huge Power’s Japanese pun)

Plus, it straight up has an Easter Bunny costume in Pokémon Unite

1:42 it's important to remember that command over many different types at once is a normal type niche, see Eevee, Arceus, Silvally, Kecleon, Sneargle etc.

And the signature move of the Porygon line are the conversions

Terapagos literally fits in this category of normal types the best 😭 besides Arceus

6:32 Dodrio is a Flying-type Pokémon because it is a bird, and moves associated with bird anatomy are of the Flying type.
