Canal City is Japan's most popular shopping centre among international tourists - a  massive complex built around  a 180 metre  canal with daily fountain shows . Today i 'm taking you on a full walking tour through this incredible place in the heart of Fukuoka.
Canal City  Hakata  opened in 1996 and has grown  into one of Japan's  most unique shopping centres - over 250 shops , restaurants , cinemas , hotels,  cafes , and a canal  running right through the middle.
Fukuoka  has a population  of 1.67 million people  , this shopping centre  receives  17 million  visitors each year , thats incredible ,  it receives approx 3.4 - 5.1 million  international  tourists  each year .  So  as the number 1  most popular  major city shopping centre for foreign  international  tourists  2026 , this  is a mega  opportunity  for people  who love to shop  when travelling .
