Peter Ostrum, who played the role of Charlie Bucket actually retired from acting to become a veterinarian after filming, he never did a movie ever again.
This is the best part of the movie. Charlie finally found a golden ticket. He ran all the way home to show it to Grandpa Joe. He was so thrilled. He could've said "Charlie finally found a golden ticket. I'm so proud of my grandson."
The musical score is so powerful. Particularly for me, from 2:41 until Charlie sprints to his home, is such a triumphant fanfare, as if for that brief moment he truly feels like King Arthur, having pulled the sword (golden ticket) from the stone!
1:25 I absolutely love this part. First, you get a very blissful childhood-like happiness and then the creative suspense kicks you right in the chest all of a sudden
