the "15 hired artists" is how I will be calling my inner voices from now on

Hardest pill to swallow as a creative person is that just because YOU care about something you made doesn't mean someone else will. There's a lot more that goes into a novel than just passion.

If only it was 15 editors instead of 15 artists and so many binders

i’m an artist and i once did a commission request for someone making a game, and when they posted it they also called it “fanart” lol. didn’t know anything about the character, the world, wasn’t a fan, and still have no idea what the project is

i just know that there is a groupchat that is going bananas over discussing what "audra from ap english" has been up to lmaoo

I really wish we could de-normalize guilt based marketing and instead started marketing things based off of the actual content again. Pity marketing is SO fucking annoying it pisses me off. Nothing completely turns me off of buying something quicker than someone trying to guilt and emotionally manipulating me into buying it.

People need to stop filming themselves crying PLEASE 😭

the whispered song audio to avoid copyright will haunt my dreams actually

"I am incredibly neurodivergent" is SO funny to me as an autistic person. That's like saying "being autistic is one thing but I have ÜBER AUTISM"

I wrote my first unpublished "book" at 16, and looking at it now through 49 year old eyes,  only fire could save it. Since self published 5 books that I'm pretty proud of.

it’s definitely not fan art — it’s commissioned art of her OCs lol

Ah, the gifted-child-post-college crash out. Glad mine wasn’t public and wrapped up in other people’s money.

Honestly decade long projects, especially ones you made first in middle school, usually have a lot of emotional investment and it makes it hard to kill your darlings. I think she should work on something new

“My 15 hired artists” has the same vibes as “my 3 weed smoking girlfriends”

The creative writing class bit is so real. In college I was so excited to finally be in a writer centric space and quickly realized that most people were there to brag, not to learn

Artists? 15. Figures? 6. Typos? Incalculable.

As someone in writing spaces, I absolutely recognize this type of person - they're so deep in the sunk cost fallacy that they keep writing and rewriting the same story over and over instead of taking the L and trying something new

I don't mean this as an insult, just an assumption from my own experience. The way she describes how much writing means to her/what it did for her in her darkest times - it sounds like this world is her maladaptive daydream/escape in which her OC/self-insert is a "better" version of herself. When you have a piece of writing written from that starting point, you don't think about it critically; you just think about how "good/comforting" this world is, you can write a million words about it, but that doesn't mean it's good

Referring to yourself as a former child prodigy is maximum cringe

“I am incredibly neurodivergent and I went through a lot of trauma growing up” followed by calling her videos not going viral (a lottery of a chance which countless millions of creators are competing for) the “worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life” is revealing.
