I bought a Costco membership last month. Bought a whole New York strip loin, and cut it myself. Steaks were so good, I bought another one 16 lbs for $9.99 per lb. Bought a meat slicer that cuts up to 1 inch thick. Took me 3 minutes to slice whole loin. Got 18 steaks from it. Bought slicer at Cabelas for $119.00. Good investment .

Just so crazy how the prices of all those items jumped from 3-4 years ago, insane!

I have found that the "shabu shabu" makes INCREDIBLE beef jerky. Air dry/dehydrate single slices for about 9 hours, and add whatever spices you want before dehydrating. Absolutely delicious!

She's 100% right about the Salmon. Farm raised Salmon always gives me stomach cramps and sends me running to the restroom.
I tried Wild-Caught a couple days ago based off her recommendation.
Not only was the color naturally darker, but it tasted better, and I had no stomach issues after.
Worth every penny.

This is why I watch your stuff. Everyone else just says “Costco is expensive now” but you actually showed where the value still is. Those ribeyes looked 🔥

Costco shopper from SF here. Btw a few years ago chicken industry figured out that China would buy ALL of our chicken feet/paws. Americans call them paws cuz they’re squeamish. Great video

I’m very blessed to have a huge discount meat market near me.

She's right about our skin being the biggest organ in our bodies. We must treat it right

Just yesterday I went to my Costco and bought three stacks of the Grass-fed burger patties. That is all I had in my basket. Eating Carnivore can make your shopping so easy. On another Costco trip I bought the Gruyère cheese, the KerryGold butter, and Pasture-raised eggs!

FYI - you don't need to go to a Business Center to get the Chuck Roll, just ask the butcher and they will get you one that they have not cut up yet. The price will be a little higher but with the cost of gas you still save. Cheers

I had a butcher tell me that the chuck steak is the poor man's rib eye. It's my favorite.

My closest Costco (Honolulu) is the busiest location in the world.

Having a deep freezer is common in Honolulu in Asian families, & it’s normal to split a big chunk of meat.

Edit: There’s a lot of Asians here, so some of the ethnic markets offer goods at reasonable prices.

Easy to get a chuck roll— you have to catch the attention of the butcher (or press the bell) who will gladly package a chuck roll for you— and the there are loads of videos on YouTube for details on how to process the chuck roll easily. Use the meat grinder attachment on your kitchen aid for easy ground beef processing. Finally
I use water to process beef fat for tallow for cooking oil.

If you want you can usually get the whole chunk roll or any of those cuts whole all you have to do is ask someone back in the butcher shop. It is almost always cheaper. You will need to ask about prices. And the price usually goes down another level if you want a whole case of the cryovac packages.
