I am retired  US Army.  Sometimes I day dream about joining the FFL.  It is just a dream.  I am old.  It is a young man's game.

I believe French military instructors are highly professional. They apply appropriate encouragement and pressure to help selected personnel overcome challenges. Unfortunately, the South Korean military lacks this.

This is great to see. A former serving Commando of 148bty and para trained, later 42 Royal Marines Commando. My good friend, who was a former Para Regt, he later joined the French Legion and he enjoyed his time, learnt French quickly! And enjoyed having a glass of wine with his evening meals.

Those guys aren’t soldiers, they’re ghosts—no names, no past, just pain and discipline. You don’t join the Legion, you survive it.

40 years ago I was sitting on a bench above the Legion post in Marseille. I was 41 at the time.  A kid in a University of Toronto jacket wanted me to go with him down to the post to join the Legion.  I had already spent some years in the RCAF so I was through with military life.  Besides I was too old and would not have made it through the selection process.

I think I understand why they suffer as they do they want to be recognised as elite soldiers the Legion is legendary.

Seems a lifetime ago that I joined in 1983! LPN

Senhor abençoe a todos!! Paz entre as nações 🙏

Cela ma touché que les deux mecs lui donnent leur peu d'argent qu'il avais sur eux.

6:38 I know I need to focus on my own personal growth but I can't help but notice that the guy did only 1 pushup

The WOs, beret looks like a teapot on his head.

Comme dans la magistrale Divine Comédie de Dante "Toi qui rentre ici abandonne toute espérance" . l'Enfer

What you don't see is the bullying, assaults, sleep deprivation, lack of food, pointless tasks, unfair punishments. The French Foreign Legion is by no means elite and atrocities happen frequently but are covered up. To anyone thinking of joining - you have been warned.

Legion etrangere, respect.
Bij Nederlandse defensie een desillusie.
Na te hebben getekend ging alles fout.
Had toen op advies twee oud commando's af moeten reizen naar het legion.
Daar weten ze wat respect betekent.

lol @ translating the Scottish guy

AI shit. Good content, but the English is misspoken as no real speaker could misspeak it.

Doubt I would've passed this selection at the age I was done doing other things.
