VoicePlay – “Tangled Medley” featuring Layla Schillert reaction! THE WOLF HUNTERZ REACTIONS are diving into VoicePlay’s incredible a cappella take on music from Disney’s Tangled, featuring guest vocalist Layla Schillert. If you love VoicePlay reactions, Disney music reactions, a cappella harmonies, Geoff Castellucci’s legendary bass vocals, Layne Stein’s vocal percussion, or creative vocal arrangements, this one is for you!
VoicePlay has built a huge following by taking familiar songs and completely rebuilding them using the human voice. Formed in Orlando, Florida, VoicePlay is known for huge harmonies, cinematic arrangements, powerful low bass, vocal percussion, comedy, and arrangements that can make a handful of singers sound like an entire orchestra. The group has also appeared on national tours and competed as finalists on Season 4 of NBC’s The Sing-Off.
For this performance, VoicePlay enters the world of Disney’s Tangled with a full MEDLEY, bringing the music of Rapunzel’s adventure into their signature vocal style. Featuring Layla Schillert, this arrangement gives us another chance to hear what VoicePlay can do when they combine a guest vocalist with their layered harmonies, character-driven performances, bass and beatboxing.
Tangled has become one of the most beloved modern Disney animated films, with music originally written by legendary Disney composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. Songs from the movie range from energetic and theatrical to emotional and romantic, which makes Tangled an especially interesting choice for the VoicePlay treatment.
One of our favorite things about reacting to VoicePlay is figuring out HOW they are creating everything we're hearing. There are moments where you almost forget that you're listening to voices instead of a traditional band or orchestra. Between the soaring leads, background harmonies, Geoff Castellucci’s massive low end, Layne Stein’s vocal percussion, and all the tiny details buried inside the arrangement, there is usually a LOT to unpack.
And with Layla Schillert joining them for this Tangled Medley, we're especially interested in hearing how her voice fits into the VoicePlay sound and how they handle the different characters, moods and musical styles found throughout Tangled.
VoicePlay currently features Geoff Castellucci, Layne Stein, Eli Jacobson and Cesar De La Rosa as its four main members, with the group frequently bringing in talented guest vocalists for its elaborate arrangements.

Speaking of facial expressions, Susie, your facial expressions are wonderful! And I love that you know the words to so many of these songs, and that you remember that reel — I'm going to have to go find that, it sounds amazing 😊
Two more thoughts, and then I'll hush: you noticed the arpeggio in the next to the last song, which it seems like an awful lot of reactors just slide right over, which blows my mind. It's so gorgeous! So I'm really happy that you reacted to that. But you both glanced away near the beginning of I See The Light when Layne is interacting with the chameleon, and you missed a couple of the funny moments with that.
Overall, I loved this reaction! And I'm kind of shocked that I found it 7 minutes after you uploaded it! I don't think I've ever gotten one this quickly 😂😂
