This is honestly one of the best videos I’ve seen that truly shows what these new Sony G Master lenses can actually do for photography and video. It’s not just about specs, numbers, and charts .. you’re showing real-world results, and that’s what matters. I especially love the 400mm f/4.5 for travel. With a 1.5x teleconverter or even APS-C mode  you can get even more reach when you need it, while keeping the setup relatively versatile and saving some money compared to stepping up to the 600mm. That’s a huge win for travel photographers and videographers.  Thank you for putting together such an amazing and genuinely useful video, guys! You’re the best!

I shot the Nikon 400 f4.5 for some time on the Z9 and later the Z8 but after I had a long repair wait on the lens with insurance getting involved and eventually the Insurance agreed that due to the long waiting time of almost 6 months that the lens was declared unrepairable due to unavailability of parts, they paid me out, I used the opportunity to sell my Z8 and other Nikon gear and made the Change to Sony. A1ii and the 100-400 f4.5. It is a crazy good lens and just returned from Botswana very happy with the lens. But I am definitely going to get the 400 f4.5. There are times when I go out doing bird photography and know that I will be at the long end and the big attraction is the weight at less than 1 kg with the A1ii attached is still lighter than the 100-400 f4.5 lens alone. This is a massive move for Sony attaching the Nikon 400 f4.5 and 600f6.3 with lower cost and lighter weight plus lined ti the Sony A7v, A1ii and A7rvi focus systems and higher mp bodies makes a compelling system. The 600 f6.3 is even lighter than the OM systems 300 f4 lens. Crazy what Sony did with the latests lenses the 100-400 f4.5 is a wildlife dream lens for its constant f4.5 and zoom flexibility and these two lenses for their size, weight and cost. Great video and amazing to see real live application

I already have the 600 F4 and love that lens, but am still going to get the new 600 F6.3 as a lightweight walkabout lens. I will be able to take when the F4 is not practical.

Have to say that this was a great review. I was looking at the 200-600 f5.6-6.3 G, for the price the 400 f4.5 is definitely the one for me. I have the A7 V, photos were nice with it.

I have the 200-600.  But, I'm interested in these lenses.

I have the 200-600, and this is mind blowing, having a 600 mm weighting less than a kilo and with the quality of GM. I am planning to have my a6700 sigma 70-200 2.8, ( 105-300 f4) and a a7RV with 600 f6.3 and selling my 200-600. Great video!!

How does this compare to 100 to 400 f 4.5

what camera-lense setup you used for filming yourself Matt?

I’d be interested in how this compares to the 300 f2.8 with 2x converter (600 f5.6). Also, how does the 600 f6.3 perform with a 1.4 or 2.0 teleconverter?

They are now lighter than those M43 lens!

Where are the results of any image comparison?

I have the Sony 100mm-400mm, 200mm-600mm and 400mm-800mm.  I'm good with those for now :)

Fantastic thank you. What body are you using with the 600?

Great lenses to photograph golf. That's pretty much it.

I would just keep my Sony G 200 - 600mm! I like the zoom range! I also have the 70 - 200mm GM 2.8 with Sony FE 2X teleconverter. I have so much versatility between them. I use them for cityscapes from long distances, plane spotting, sports, race cars and birds too.

Missing the bokeh of the 600 F4.

I own a Tamron 150-500, this lens would be a great extra. It will take some effort howevern to convince my wife I really have to spend this muich money...

Canon is falling behind...

Sony is giving everything they could but what they couldn't yet is the true colors n good skintones like Nikon .

I couldn't imagine holding one of the 2 previous lenses with both hands. Times have changed 😂

Pressed the pay now on 600 6.3.
