If you own a V7, what is it about the bike that doesn’t reveal itself on a test ride?

I have two V7's, a 2019 750cc and a 2024 850cc. I use the 750cc one for touring, up to 50,000 miles on that one and the other which is the Corsa model for shorter fun riding. I wouldn't sell either, I love them more than anything I've ever ridden in 50+ years of riding all sorts of bikes.

After selling my GoldWing in 1995, I went for 29 years without riding. Narrowed it down to air cooled, spoke wheels, analog dials. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Kawasaki W800 and Moto Guzzi V7 Special. Dealer had the W800 and the V7 in stock. Chose the V7 simply because it was a more comfortable seating position. My 2023 has dual analog clocks. After about 6000 miles I am still completely in love with the V7. This one I will keep for life. Bigger is not better.

I own the 2021 Guzzi v7 850 Special. For me the 2021 Version has even more character with its analoge gauges instead of the digital Instrument cluster.

Bought a 2018 Honda Goldwing when I retired hoping to get back into touring: that didn't happen. Great bike, but big and heavy. Traded it for a 24 Guzzi V7 Stone Special Edition that better fits my short rides around the Finger Lakes region and have no regrets. Fun ride.

For years I'd regretted never having had a Guzzi. Two years ago I decided to buy one before I was too old for buying bikes. I got a V7 850 special. It's definitely not for everyone but I love it. Should've got one sooner, especially as I  test rode an earlier version about twelve years before and liked it.
Edit: No messy chain to clean/lube/adjust, suits me.

great bike, but only one dealer support here in Manila. If it breaks down, we're screwed here. went with the boneville t100 for reliability and good network dealer support.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. I really enjoyed that your enjoyment came as a sort of surprise in waves and seemed to catch you 'off guard'. That really made me smile so thank you for that.

Moto Guzzis' are NICE!

I have owned a 2021 V7 Stone for five years. It shares a garage with a 2016 BMW R1200RT and a 2025 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. the Guzzi is the one that moves my heart. I have just over 12,000 miles on it and did a 3800 mile trip on it this past June. I chose it over my BMW simply because the way the bike makes me feel and it was fantastic. I did have a custom seat made for me but I can easily do a 500 mile day on it. I have a 32" inseam and the seat I had made added about an inch of height. I also ended up adding 1" bar risers due bring the bar to seat ratio back.

I love my 2021 Centenario V7 stone.

Long legged 6’3” V7 Stone owner in the UK here. Yes it’s perhaps slightly small for me but the character more than makes up for it and I love it. I have the Mistral exhausts, retune etc and it goes as well as it sounds. Despite being torquey it actually likes to rev out, bar the last 500rpms or so, on a spirited ride. But at the end of the day I love that it’s just an easy going no worries relaxed bike - nobody is expecting you to ride it fast but it’ll still overtake cars with ease when you want it to and you don’t have to worry anywhere near as much about scraping the pegs like you do on regular cruisers. Plus, no chain maintenance is bliss. A bike that is more than the sum of its parts and better than the on-paper stats suggest.

I have a V7 classic, i love it. Moto Guzzi,  great looking bikes. I have seen a Kawasaki W800,  and that also looks nice, they'd look good along side each other in the garage.

It still puzzles me that Moto Guzzi put the same digital display and the eagle headlight from the stone on the special? Glad I have the last version of special with the duel analog instruments and round headlight.

The V7 Sport gives you twin front discs and inverted forks, but the Special looks better with the bags in a touring configuration, in my opinion. I liked that dark green on the Special, buy opted for the Sport and the motor is breaking in beautifully just before my 1st service.

Yep - that’s how the addiction starts. That first ride…
I wanted one after just looking at a Le Mans back in the 80’s. Instead, I ended up with a Katana 1100, and a love with high powered Bikes for that era was started. V4 2-Stroke race replica? Yes please I’ll take that. GPZ 900R, thanks - GPZ1000R yep…and so on. BUT….even after a string of GSX-R’s and even a Suzuki Turbo - That itch remained and I didn’t know why.
Fast forward to moving to the US, Honda ST1300 and a Hayabusa……and every time I saw a Guzzi, which was few and far between, that itch was still there.
Moved to New Hampshire, and I wanted a Bike ( I’d sold the Busa and Honda prior ) and it had been 12 years since I’d ridden.

Spotted a Bike shop “Seacoast Sports” and I thought I’d see what they had Online ( I’d moved up into the White Mountains 2hrs away  ) and I saw a 2024 Moto Guzzi V7 Special Edition with only 1700 miles on it. Arrow exhausts, just lovely. Didn’t even test ride it. The itch was now a full blown case of Poison Ivy, and relief was this Black work of art. Beautiful air-cooled Italian with loads of Character. I bought it and had it shipped up to me.
Love it - it’s just gorgeous, and the rumble and sound - oh my….and at a now 64yrs young, I don’t know why I waited so bloody long. Is it quirky? Sure - nothing like I have ever owned.
30+ Bikes since I was 17, and none were even like this. But, it suits my riding style, long slow wind-ups, counter steering going into corners fast, using that oh-so-lovely torque to push outta corners - oh yes, I was laughing my head off for the first ride. Just giggling away at this characterful Bike.

So, I rang the Dealer up ( awesome Owner and Staff - best ever ) and asked if he had a 2026 Vy Special in White. He said no, but could get one….yep, and so I had a 2026 shipped to me.The itch was complete after that arrived.  I laughed at some of the other comments here, where others have two or more….I get it!
If you get a “Fly Screen” I’d recommend the Dart “Classic” and not the “Merlin”. Why? The Merlin has more curve and funnels air back into my neck-chin and when semi’s or even Trailers go past, I notice a lot more buffeting that the “Classic”. This is not as curved and pushed the air up - instead of at you.

I did something that mat make you and others cringe and yell at the screen….I traded my wire rims back to the shop, and instead put a set of black mags on it, from another V7 Stone.
Plus I had bar end mirrors put on, the same ones that come with the 2024 Special Edition.
Why the rim change?
One, they are tubed and I don’t want to be trying to change tubes at night in an area with spotty cellular, some places none at all.
Two, I like the White with black rims and the other chrome pieces setting each other off.
Three, I’m as quirky as the Bike hahahahaha.
