I had the privilege of tuning the piano for Mr. Borge at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center. I went out into the hallway to find my wife, and heard a rattling at the door. I opened it, and there he was in a tuxedo and a baseball cap. I said, "Mr. Borge, I'm your piano technician." He replied, "Oh, I'm sorry. I made you work!" That delightful, kind man was as funny off stage as he was on stage.
As a now 77 yo Pom living in Melbourne I had long forgotten the absolute genius that Mr Borge was. His brilliance and timing and musicianship was something to behold.I doubt we will ever see a talent like his again. RIP Victor.
La cosa più difficile del mondo....... fare ridere, essere divertito di quello che hai visto e sentito non è una cosa che sappiano fare tutti a questi livelli che dire 🎩 🎩
When I first saw him in the mid seventies I laughed myself to tears. I was 10 years old. If you still can laugh yourself to tear more than 40 years later you know you're looking at a genius.🤣🤣🤣
That guy was a true genius. So relaxed and enjoyable in his faux-distracted act, yet so tasteful and virtuoso in his piano playing. Everybody longs for him to play, but he teases us all the time. The moments of free music are brilliant and memorable. Love him.
