Links should work now! Go check out everyone mentioned in the video!!

Something to keep in mind too: People leaving the hobby sell whole armies on ebay/craigslist all the time.  Usually fully painted and ready to go for a fraction of the price.

Cosmonaut: “So first... you just order some basic kit.”
Me: “Aha...”
Cosmonaut: “You easily paint them. No biggy.”
Me: “Yeah. Ok...”
Cosmonaut: “Choose the cheap option to start. Dont break you wallet.”
Me: “Got’ ya.”
Cosmonaut: “And then... you just grab a couple of friends and-“
Game Workshop Refund Line: “Hi. How can we assist you today?”

Had no idea you had to build and paint them, that’s literally the exact hobby I’m looking for

me playing warhammer for 16 years: Ah yes help justify my poor financial choices

Glad you found my videos useful! :)

his wallet shall be for ever remembered, as the Emperor's finest.

The actual hardest part: finding friends who are willing to try a new hobby and play with you.

Must be nice...

"anyone can get into this hobby as long as you have the right resources..."

money... you mean money...

“Would you rather finance your child’s college education OR pass down thousands of hoarded plastic miniatures they‘re stuck with getting rid of after you die?”

Sold. I’m in. 40K or Sigmar? Why not both?

Tip for anyone getting into the hobby: don't buy games workshop's paints, brushes, sprue cutters, ect. GW tools can be twice the price of the exact same or better product elsewhere. Personally, I use Vallejo paints, and you can find paints from other companies which match the color of GW paints, but are cheaper. Also, in my experience, GW paints dry out in the bottle faster.

Jeweler's tip for people with shaky hands :
1) Have both your hands resting on something as you work.
2) Have a contact point between your hands, directly or by both being in contact with the piece you're working on. It can be as small as the tip of a finger, but it will make a big difference.

This got me into 40k. I now own 6 armies and have painted 1.5 of them. Cosmo, you have doomed me.

Welcome to the hobby!   And thanks for the shout out :-)

When i was like 12 my friends and i walked past a games workshop and because we were assholes, we went in thinking it'd be funny to laugh at the nerds. They guy who owned the shop was super nice, knew we'd never seen this shit before and he had a a selection of like, random miniatures for people to paint. We all painted one and had a tonne of fun. We each biugt a £5 box of little dudes. Painted them at home and went back every weekend for like a month. A couple of us kept going and got super into it. My mum and sister went on holiday and instead of that, my dad and me bought a bunch if stuff like third pyramid rocket ship and a tank andna bunch of dudes. We painted them over a weekend and used a big slab of wood, some green pain, and some newspapaper to make a hilly battle field. And i had a lot of fun. I played a couple battles at the shop. Stopped playing it after a while idk why. But, when i say i have 0 artistic tallent, i mean i can barely draw a passable stick man,. I had loads of fun and this video kinda made me wanna buy some figures and paint them with my fiance for fun

Pros: "You can play as David Bowie in Labyrinth" - literally from the wiki he showed - TAKE MY MONEY 🤣

Just an FYI for you star wars nerds, theres a version of this with star wars models called Star Wars Leigon. I love it, and its got that star wars feel, with this custom model and gameplay from Warhammer.

“Used to have some insane shit” shows picture of a horse
