Glinda was the real villain in the Wizard of Oz, not Dorothy! Glinda manipulated Dorothy every step of the way. She told Dorothy not to give the ruby slippers back. She withheld the easy way to get back from Dorothy.
Truman was not the villain, in any way shape or form. The "thousands who lost their jobs" were complicit in that horrific experiment and deserved to lose their jobs (tho many would just be working on another production, probably another kidnapped child growing up in a dome) Truman owed them nothing and it doesn't matter a damn if he "had a good life" It would be easier to deal with finding out you live in the matrix than a real world where every single person you know is paid to pretend to be your friend or family
Dorothy only threw water on the witch by accident when trying to put the fore out on the scare crow. She didn't do it intentionally. Neither was she piloting the house to purposely land on the witch of the east. So get out of here with that crap.
Concerning the Jedi: Their biggest mistake was their rule about not forming attachments. Because of that rule, Anakin Skywalker had no one to turn to when it came to expressing his doubts and fears, and led to him hiding his marriage from The Jedi. Had The Jedi made the rule against forming attachments a recommendation rather than a flat out ban (meaning they are allowed but discouraged), Anakin might have been able to turn to Obi-Won and others for assistance about his fears and doubts. Instead, he turned to Chancellor Palpatine because he was the only person he could speak with about those issues.
wait, i mandela remember the guests at charlies factory didn't die and appear alive but affected both book and film. so if they're no deaths, the theory makes no sense
Maverick did not push into Iceman's flight path, Iceman pushed into Maverick's. Maverick had the target locked, Iceman flew his plane to steal the shot, but was too close to take the shot himself, and disengages to allow Maverick the kill. Instead, the exhaust from Iceman's plane stalls one of Maverick's jets causing the spin. I'm not excusing any of Maverick's other flaws, but if anyone had to take the heat for Goose's death, that'd be on Iceman more than Maverick.
Genie is the actual con artist. Aladdin wished to be made a prince, and Genie chose to not grant the wish. He's proven to be a con artist when he granted Jafar's wishes instantly. He picks and chooses what wishes he grants.
Time 1:13 OMFG NO, IT DOESN'T. I'm so sick and tired of this victim blaming horseshit. Daniel kept a girl from being assaulted by her psycho ex-boyfriend at a beach party, took interest in taking a karate class, and sprayed water on said psycho ex-boyfriend in retaliation for him trying to murder him. THAT'S IT! In response, Johnny gets his 7 friends try to kill him by pushing him off a hill, harrase him to the point where he doesn't even feel safe leaving his apartment building, then almost beats him to death after running him down after spraying him with water. FUCKING WATER! WTF IS WRONG WUTH YOU PPL!
7:08 the Truman show: that's exactly why Kurt cobain was so depressed. They turned him into a machine, a brand, a toy, something that can not feel real and free.
Actually I think Dorothy was more of a patsy thank about it she's manipulated from the minute she arrives in oz to kill the wicked witch think about what Glenda says she basically tells Dorothy that yeah these shoes are the only way you're getting home and if you notice she's actually horrified when she kills the wicked witch with water and keeps trying to apologize for it there was like no no you're good I think Glenda and The wizard were the ones pulling the strings
In Aladdin, I would argue the genie is the villain. Aladdin did not wish to be a pretend prince, he wished to BE an actual prince. The genie does not fully grant that wish, instead just making Aladdin appear to be a prince. Had the genie truely granted Aladdin's wish, Aladdin's title as a prince would have been official and not just a con. Genie also cheats the second wish while Aladdin is unconscious and about to drown. At no point did Genie ever say he couldn't save Aladdin's life of his own choosing. Magic wasn't even really required to pull Aladdin out of the water.
The Ferris Bueller theory works very well. I thought the theory was that Cameron was sick in bed for the whole time and the movie was Cameron distracting himself from having the flu and being sick in bed. Cameron probably saw Ferris in a classroom once while wearing the iconic outfit once and he remembered that guy and imagined what his life must be like. Then, when he recovered, he would have used that story for a creative writing assignment.
On the other hand, Jasmine is equally a lair only wants to get what she wants.
She states that she wants to marry out of love but does not say she would marry him even if he was a poor man til the end after he saves her kingdom and her family.
