Nosferatu feels like the movie Eggers has been building up to his whole filmography, and the talent he’s acquired all helped in achieving that vision, both on set and with VFX. Terrific film, can’t wait for his Labyrinth sequel.

Even though I know completely that Count Orlock's shadow on the curtains is cgi, it still puts my disbelief in suspense as something in my brain tells me that it is real and that is why I'm in love with filmmaking. When you can achieve as simple a shot as that and still blow them away by the simplicity of it you've done what every filmmaker seeks to achieve. Haven't seen Nosferatu yet but I'm excited for when I do!

Just wow! I love when someone in the industry sees a problem and actually creates a solution. I mean, for all those movies I was always impressed with the night look. Especially in NOPE where I believe shots happened during sunny days. Regardless, I'm so happy to see something like this moonlight exists. It really has made a HUGE difference!

Fascinating stuff. Nothing but respect for their insistence on taking a purist approach, but also feel like their willingness to compromise in some cases actually works in their favor. It gives each film a very beautiful natural look overall, but with just the tiniest hint that there's maybe something slightly off here. The subconscious mind tends to pick up on these things, and I think that's a part of the uneasy feeling you get from these films at times. Very cool.
